Be aware, there are shady "shamen" out there. That's why it's very, very important to do your homework on the ceremony you're going to. If you've had an experience with a dark or inexperienced shaman, there is a solution. Watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZbbcmlvnpZlgs0

When I was really young, I used to have nightmares about being trapped in a volcano, which could be flashbacks to the car crash. I also used to put bowls on my head and sit in cardboard boxes, pretending that I was driving a car. I'm not saying that this is conclusive evidence, but it was an ah-ha moment. It could be related...

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words! Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear on that point. I'm not talking about religion per se, but the spiritual experiences that led to religion. I believe that religion is largely unnecessary (except for historical reference) and has become an intellectualization of the actual experiences that come from things like plant medicine, meditation, NDE or other spiritual awakenings. Have a great day!

Thanks for sharing. One thing I'm curious about is almost every Ayahuasca retreat does not allow consecutive days for the ceremonies. It's usually one, then a day of rest, one then day of rest. How is it that this particular place is allowing 4 days in a row? Did you ask about that beforehand? (since you said you researched it quite a bit)
@TradingHeroes5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure which ones you are referring to, but all of the ones I was considering did at least 2 nights back-to-back... But it really depends on what the retreat feels works best, the tradition that the shaman comes from, and the brew that they serve. Rythmia serves 3 mellow brews, then the last night is Yagé, a really purgative brew. So it's a little easier to do 4 in a row. Finca Ambiwasi does 2 nights of Yagé, then a break, then 2 more nights of Yagé. This brew is rough, so I can see why you would need a break in between. SoulQuest in Florida does 2 nights back to back. Like with most things, there's no one right answer for everyone. It's just a matter of what makes sense to you at this point in your life. If someone is scared of what they might see, then just 1 night can be a great introduction to aya. If someone wants to go much deeper, then 4 nights can help.

I am going to El Purguero Mid January for their 7 day retreat. It is not a luxury retreat, more in the jungle(secondary jungle of the amazon) in Iquitos. My first time ever doing Aya, so I am trying to prepare myself the best I can. I have plenty of experience with LSD/Mushrooms but those pale in comparison to Mother Ayahuasca. I will be doing the same, but not having all of the simple western luxuries which you had at Rythmia. The shaman is very experienced, over 20 years(Gringo Shaman). He has plenty of great reviews, but I have had this calling to go for several years. I just know in my heart of hearts, that it is time to go and experience this physical and emotional healing. God bless man, and thanks for the video.

I have suffered the worst irritable bowel issues the last 5 years after a serious bout of food poisoning in Bali . I wonder if Aya could help me with that and POS traumatic stress ..
@TradingHeroes5 жыл бұрын
Possibly. It sounds like you might have a trapped trauma associated with the food poisoning. I'm not a doctor, but hallucinogenic treatments like Aya have been effective for things like PTSD...you can read the scientific studies. A couple of people in our Aya group overcame alcoholism in a week. It won't work for everyone, but it can be powerful. The book "Higher Wisdom: Eminent Elders Explore the Continuing Impact of Psychedelics (amzn.to/2J1K5Ph)" is a good resource for case studies. There are also other ways to solve these issues, but if Aya appeals to you, do some research and weigh both sides. The book "The Emotion Code (amzn.to/32gTs52)" is another great way to release these trapped traumas and you don't have to take any substances. Obviously, consult a doctor also. Best wishes!!

@@hvacstudent967 these planet medicines operate within a persons belief system.
@hvacstudent9675 жыл бұрын
@@Dakkaroni I don't disagree or agree with your state that, "these plant medicines operate within a persons belief system." I think that a good metaphor comparison would be an electrical circuit in your home. Electricity doesn't define where the electrical outlets are located, the limitations of amperage that is drawn through that circuit or why they were installed in the first place. When electricity is applied to the circuit mentioned above, does it not work through the limitations of the circuit? Is electricity a force that is limited by our understanding of it? Our beliefs about it? More practically, does electricity design the circuit for which it was used? The same way plant medicines, like Ayahuasca, effect consciousness, not unlike how electricity effects a coffee maker, that before electricity is nothing but a hunk of plastic, glass and metal. I think the biggest difference is how the plant medicines dissolve those personal belief systems. I've experienced first hand the power of Ayahuasca, it can be both illuminating, and debilitating. Regardless of how I interpret the experience, one thing is certain, and that is that my ego, or self definition has not survived the encounter. Which may or may not be an experience that another person would understand, and or if they did, want. Plant medicines don't just work within the confines of a belief system, though I'm sure they do, like electricity to a circuit. They RE-define the belief systems in a format that is unlike anything you've been programmed with before. This is the beauty of Psychedelics and the beauty of the limitlessness of consciousness and human potential for growth and evolution.
