It's refreshing to see a limited personal library on here! Due to shifting and moving around in life, I also focused on keeping only select books in my personal collection, donating or selling the rest. Harry Potter is one of my earliest and most prized series, and those I would always keep with me, along with select spiritual books that are significant. ❤ I got back into reading fiction this year after a decade, so I'm thoughtfully looking to add a couple of fantasy books to my shelves. Otherwise I primarily own non-fiction and spiritual books, and some children's books that hold a lot of memories from my childhood!

I'm happy for you that you care about books and have kept some of your favorite with you. Having a personal library these days seems to be somewhat rare. I have some memories about the place I grew up and how we'd have a heavy bookshelf with dictionaries, novels, and a few others. Then there's the small library in my Grandparent's place. That one is really from a time gone by. It gives you a certain peace of mind, and I think it can even relax you, just staring at your book collection. Personally I think it's because books are slow. I too have shifted my book gathering strategy nowadays more towards collecting books that bring me joy. Or they have some sort of connection, like to my past. To be honest, I still have way too many tomes in my shelves but I'm working on it constantly. There was a time when I had in my mind the idea of trying to diminish the amount of books to the minimum. I quickly realized I wouldn't be able to do it. But that's okay. I have a different type of minimalism in my apartment and I'm liking it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the matter! It's always good to hear from another book-lover, their experiences, their ideas.. I especially liked in this video how you showed shot-by-shot the books you have. I even recognized a few 😊

Bushcraft 101 by Dave Canterbury is a good way to start (:
