My Mixed Feelings With The Nightly Manor Finale…

To be honest, I do think the show would have absolutely benefitted greatly from being longer. From the looks of it, it seemed like they had great ideas and definitely wanted to incorporate a lot of them, but the fact that there were only 3 episodes definitely inhibited it. This is the kind of concept I would LOVE to see flourish into a full fledged series with arcs and character development from each of the characters. It absolutely felt like they wanted to set up some stuff, most notably being Spray Can and Mouse’s dynamic, particularly their pasts. Overall, for a short little web series with three episodes, all not much longer than 5 minutes, I’d say they still did a pretty good job. A lot of the jokes were really funny and well timed and overall really enjoyable. However your nitpicks are really good. The inconsistencies, the over reliance on sketchpad for all of the jokes, and just missed opportunities really stopped this show from being as good as I think it could be. I think that, if this ever became a full length series with more episodes (or at least longer ones) I think they would be able to establish a lot more character and really flesh out each of the objects. I’d say overall, the nightly manor is still pretty good and fun, but with a LOT of room for improvement. I think this show has a lot of unused potential that I’d love to see flourish into something really special. Definitely excited to see where they take this show!

I think that the reason why some of the characters act in certain ways is because in their perspectives. This is real life, they act so serious and push past obvious concepts because that’s the real horror of it, they don’t want to admit it. Your points are really great and I really like your points but I just wanted to point this out. Sketchpad is a bit much tho. Oh yeah, I wanted to add something. I think the character GPS was talking to in episode two was the virus controlling him. That’s why he looks so shocked in the frame before he blows up, he doesn’t even know what happened since he was trapped ‘walking around in his mind’.

I always thought sketchpad was trying to make light of the weird situation and infodumped about stupid shit like Woody's color because thats what helps him cope. His flat dialogue and expression really sold that to me like man if i was a silly little sketchpad and a buncha people started dying in my face i would try to find comfort by telling random people about whatever random topic that had nothing to do with the situation to ease myself tf. Also he has those coils on him (and hes a little extremely stupid) so i dont think he could've slid under the door and even if he did what would he do next hes short asf. No idea ab the taser but i am a sketchpad apologist

I actually would have liked if the random trivia characteristic were part of sketchpad’s character. That would be legitimately interesting! But his voice acting and facial expressions just made him seem emotionlessly happy. I really wish they explored that more in the show. Also it’s true that his coils were pretty big and those probably wouldn’t have fit under the door, but it’s also silly to be that his tiny arms and legs were able to break down the door so quickly 😂

I think Sketchpad has something to due with the manor. I mean we can see for episode 1 and most of episode 2 GPS is in control of himself, and Ring and Mouse still die. Even before GPS becomes infected with a virus and kills Speaker and Spray-paint and himself in the process. It would've made sense if Sketchpad sprayed the gas that made Speaker and GPS unconscious because Sketchpad is the only one small enough to fit in the vents. And I am 100% the cord around the ice cream Spray-paint was eating killed Ring. And the reason Spray-paint and Mouse ate all the food was because they are homeless, and they are starving. As seen in episode 1 when we see screenshots of all 7 of the guests getting invites to a dinner party and Spray-paint can be seen in a trash can while Mouse can be seen near Spray-paint. And if you look at the first letter in every word that come in the titles from episodes 1 - 3, you get *V* istors *I* nvited, *R* escue *U* nderway *S* urvive and you get V I R U S or virus. These may all be wrong, but I'd love to hear your thoughts of my theories! :D

A really cool and simple way to still incorporate that joke with Sketchpad with the taser is to have it play out exactly like it did, but Sketchpad is holding the taser up and GPS slices it with the cleaver, breaking it and maybe have it sparking on the ground, cut in half, for a second or two. It would keep the humor, while also having a cool scene that shows that GPS is dangerous and threatening.

Sketchpad really ruined the otherwise good and intense scenes. If the producers of The Nightly Manor had toned down the unnecessary scenes, like the taser or BFDI one, then surely Sketch would be a more tolerable character. A prediction I have for this show is that the early chapters are going to be filled with crimes (mostly within the manor), and then subsequent chapters will be several investigation-related plots running side-by-side with each other.

Same here, to me that scene felt so out of place. Considering how the first chapter is basically supposed to explain the main plot it feels really weird to just depart from the canon and show us an ad about some magnifying glass. I get how note pad is supposed to be the joke character here, breaking the 4th wall and all, but since this ad will most likely only make sense once chapter 2 comes out I feel like they probably should’ve saved that for like and after credits scene for part 3.

I would rather have Sketchpad go with Mouse and Speaker, Mouse dies in the hallway. GPS, Tophat, and Spray Can are left alone. The lights turn off and they all get separated. Cut back to Sketchpad and Speaker. Sketchpad slides under the door and unlocks it, he runs to get help. Before Speaker gets away GPS kills him. He then invites Tophat and Spray Can into the kitchen using the walkie talkie that he stole from Speaker (Sketchpad would of gave his to Tophat before they split). Then they fight him in the kitchen. Tophat and Spray Paint escape. Spray Paint then fights GPS, and runs away before he could blow up. Also I just now realized how long this is.

Tbh I also really didn’t like sketchpad when I rewatched the 3 episodes. It really felt off to have really serious scenes followed by a really dumb joke. And I also think that it would’ve been nice to have more flashbacks in the show. I know that the show is daily but I still think that showing more of the other characters other lives really would help a lot imo. I really don’t think these things completely ruin the show, I still love because it is (in a way) bringing back Object Manor, and I really liked that show to, but I do kind of see how this show can be, as you would say it “a beautiful mess.” But I am still looking forward to season 2, I really hope it expands on the lives of all the characters before they went into the mansion (especially spray paint and mouse), shows what happened to top hat and sketchpad after the mansion, and hopefully more info on how GPS got this weird behavior in the first place.

I enjoyed its animation, its story I couldnt care less for. Most of the time I was watching the animation in awe of how fantastic it is, but I never knew this was supposed to be "dark. I find ONE more dark than this, if they wanna do this right sketchpad should be changed or removed, and not putting his scenes near dark scenes. I can only get attached so much to characters I have only known for 8 minutes. I really only cared about speaker and maybe sketchpad, but even so I didnt know it was supposed to be dark. Its a good chapter but it struggles with tone a lot, I remember Wuggalo making a video about this exact thing, not putting light toned scenes right after dark ones. I think, that Spraypaint should have survived. Think about it. There was groups of 2 in this show. Speaker, and Sketchpad. 1 died, 1 survived. Tophat and GPS, 1 survived 1 died. Mouse and Spraypaint. Both died. Ring died with no reason just to kill someone nobody cared about to get the basics of the game. I think spraypaint should have survived due to that. Really loved the show, it was great but I do think it coulda been changed I think after Mouses death spray paint is still emotional and feeling horrible, but sketch pad and top hat force him to go with them( basically they just drag him with them ) In the flash back with mouse and spray paint mouse mentions how spray paint has been acting lately spray paint just responds with a “ mhehm “ and mouse looks stressed, while searching for doors sketch pad goes “ I haven’t seen this many doors since me and speaker went to that big apartment to stay in for a 2 day mission, that place was filthy “ sketch pad gets the walkie talkie call and makes the same joke. They find gps standing next to speakers dead body with gps showing a blank frown Top hat goes “ but, we were all together. “ and sketch pad shouts “ apart from that big walkie talkie man “ GPS grabs a knife and starts following them as they quickly run, finding a dead end at the locked door they all seek stumbled. GPS is nearly at them and it seems hopes lost then it cuts to spray paint next to them. In his brain he just is hearing mouse say “ spray paint, you’ve been kinda off lately “ on loop, then he gets determination back and strikes at GPS saying “ go! Go! “ sketch pad breaks open the door and him and top hat run out, as GPS starts the countdown spray paint starts to run then stops, and says “ for mouse. “ he dies in the explosion with GPS, he still dies but it’s taken in a better way. No hate to you (i mean i even liked the video) this comment I am making is more of a defense of the show then anything. To be fair, many of these problems you have come from the fact that this is a reboot of a old show he did, and I don’t think he wanted to alter the characters (such as sketchpad) to much. Also the reason sketchpad didn’t use the taser again was because it didn’t actually work, that was the whole joke. The reason spray paint doesn’t run during the countdown is he didn’t understand what it was counting down to. Execute entity just sounds like it would’ve killed GPS not cause a explosion. Also sketchpad breaking the door down is a completely feasible act for him to do, and I just won’t get why that is all to surprising. If you want some actual flaws then I would mention how top hat never asks his best friend GPS why he’s doing this and instead sits in shock doing literally nothing, or how ring did literally nothing ever, and how them suspecting spray paint of the murder meant nothing, or the random scene where GPS was wandering a code-like void that never came to anything.

I think it would've been interesting if spray paint accidentally killed gps while fending him off. Think about it, spray paint have time to think about mouse and the fact that he killed someone. Not to mention how the would raise some tension between him and top hat. We could've also gotten some more info about spray paint drinking problem since his friend is gone, he got accused for murdering someone and he accidentally killed somebody in self defense. Not to mention how excessive the explosion was. Maybe there could've been an intense scene where the mansion was set a blaze. sleeping gas came out from the vents so why can't a flammable gas do so too. It could be triggered by GPS getting injured by the cleaver and in his last moments he looks at speaker's corpse and says "top hat, where am-" Before the mansion gets vibe checked out of existence. :)
