I'm always scared to start journals. Instagram and youtube have gotten to me, I feel like every page needs to perfect and pretty and insta-worthy and it's driving me crazy. I'm working on accepting less and just have fun, be happy with what I'm doing! I love your style, it's so honest and authentic!

That's my problem. I have watched so many videos that made me feel like my pages needed to look perfect. It paralyzed me. It stressed me out so much that I stopped journaling.😔

You will never know how helpful this journal series has been to me. While I am never aiming to make my journal pages insta worthy, I am such a perfectionist that I sometimes don’t even begin for fear of doing it ‘wrong’ or making a mess. Your rules page is something I am going to copy and commit to memory because it’s exactly what I need to just let loose and go with the flow. Thank you for being brave enough to show your pages. My judgy self didn’t get it at first and I am ashamed at what I was thinking, but at the fourth part of this series I suddenly got it! It’s self-expression and self discovery and doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else! It’s creativeness at it’s best, raw and real. I particularly like the idea of putting a bit of paint down, adding bits and pieces to it later, maybe text or a quote, or scraps, and building a ‘composition’ over time. Takes the pressure off when lacking inspiration in the moment. Thank you so much for this series.

I absolutely love this! Your journal is so sweet. So raw. So simple. I cannot explain it. I am so tired of all these fancy journal artists. Their work makes me not want to create and play. Yours does. Thank you. I wish I could explain it better but I'm not finding the words.

Susan, you said it perfectly. It's personal, just write, draw, color, cut, paste, whatever you want it's only paper.

You’ve inspired me. I had a 3x5 Moleskine planner I stopped using and I started to put gesso on the pages to turn into an art journal and I love it so far. Thank you. Someone on KZbin taught me to rub a white candle on the pages so that they don’t stick(since I’m using acrylic). I love it. It also softens the page so it feels like the softcover.

I have a Moleskine hardback daily diary and a Moleskine hardcover expanded, both in the A5 size. I started out the year using them in a very neat and precise way, with one four color pen as my only tool. Then I came across your Moleskine flip through videos and i was in awe. After I watched them all I gave myself permission to wreck my notebooks. I’m not artistic at all but now I feel much less inhibited about slapping washi tape, stickers and stamps randomly on the pages and covers just because the mood strikes me. I plan to purchase personalized Moleskines from the website over Black Friday weekend and I am already looking forward to next year when I will have two or three expanded notebooks to use as my all in one planner, record, diary, journal, scrapbook, whatever. Thank you for setting this part of my brain free. 💜

I have a few different journals...there's the daily journal/planner, in that one I add what I need to remember, 3 Good Things...writing down lovely memories and sometimes adding photos. A new thing I started was adding quotes to my journal...I was talking to my friend during a drive and she said something that stuck so I popped it into my phone to remember when I got home...then wrote it in my journal. The other journal is my private one, thoughts, mind mapping out problems, messy, stickers...whatever. Both are really organic and it changes all the time. I love it...its a game changer for me since I only started journalling 2 years ago.

I love your journal!! it was a needed reminder that what you create is only for you. I love it. you're a great inspiration😊. I can't really tell when and how i journal... i sometimes just document what happened and sometimes i get into deeper topics or even draw or paint something. it really depends. i do whatever i want whenever i want kinda like you do. But when I get a new journal I usually start with writing more to get a feeling for my journal and get more into art later on. I have to get comfortable first haha.

This video is so reassuring. I always feel pressured by the "perfect" posts on Instagram, whether or not Im aware of it . I got a Hobonichi Cousin for 2021 and I want it to serve as a journal only but dont want to feel pressured to always post on IG or show people my pages. It can be simple, and it can be just colors on a page. Thank you for this reminder.

Amazing ideas to let go and not worry so much. Just create. I'm going to buy this moleskine expanded regular journal. I already bought the a4 size moleskine watercolor album and it's great. It does get a bit scary breaking it in. So I just went crazy and sketched out this Alice in wonderland, very dark and bold, moody 5 tier birthday cake. And it came out so amazing. I added bones and skulls and greenery. Leaves. The moleskines are fantastic. I just recently purchased SUI gouache. Its pastel colors very inspiring and the color story communicates well to any subject. So much fun to incorporate into my schmincke watercolors. Anyway your videos are really more than inspirational. I love the rules at the beginning of the journal. Great idea.

It's true that we should not worry about likes or make it pressurize us to make insta worthy spreads. Journals are yours and are a reflection of you. So you can do it any way you want. My style is naturally creative meaning whether I show the pages or not on social media I like them to be artsy, and colorful and I do add journal ephemera because it makes me happy. I am actually not doing for anybody else but for myself because I love to journal that way. ❤

I just started journaling back in June. I have a bunch of different journals I work on. Three I use daily the others only when I am in the mood. The three I use daily one is for positive quotes and what I am grateful for and such. The other one is actually how I am feeling (I am depressed a lot but I hate keeping stuff bottled up so I do a journal on how I truly feel for the day. I know weird when I do a positive journal too) and the other one is quotes that make you think. I do some art journals too. Trying different ways or art journaling instead of always filling up an entire page I am trying new ways to do my art.

Journaling and catching daily memories should be fun and joyful. Not how much you spend or how pretty it can be. I really enjoy your channel very much. May I ask where you purchased or if it's diy I would love a video showing that.

5:37 How I journal: It´s basically just daily writing. Writing daily is a habit of mine, like brushing teeth, so wether I have something certain to write about or not, I just write. Mostly every morning after getting up, then during the day and, if I´m not too tired, in the evening before sleep. I love to write, it´s thinking but more carefully!
