I used to work with your mom and dad at Transcontinental Music Corp in Burlingame back in 69-70. Two of the nicest people I met there.

Loved this Mark. Never saw any extended interaction involving your mom. This was great!

I wish I did but back then I couldn't afford one. Your dad was in the back "picking" the records to fill the orders and your mom packed them in boxes for shipment. Your mom was a real sweetheart, always smiling and friendly. Your dad as I remember him was all solid muscle, someone you wanted to be on the right side. Very quiet at work and a nice guy. How long did they work there? And please give your mom my best wishes even though she probably wouldn't remember me. Two very nice, down to earth people that I'll never forget. And thank you Mark for you getting back to me. You've made my day.

I saw this on KZbin and they showed the whole thing from the start. I love Carol's reaction when the other woman said Joan Weston was 176 pounds. Only Bill Cullen would pick up the fact that when the other two girls would say something wrong Carol's face was showing her reaction to there answers.

I grew up watching this show with my Grandma who loved Roller Derby also. How cool of you to share this with us! I always liked Bill Cullen as a gameshow guy/host/announcer. Pretty cool to know he was a roller derby broadcaster too!

This made my day! Two of my favorite things brought together. I was and still am a big fan of TTTT I thought I had seen most of the episodes since it began in the '50s, but I mssed this one. Thanks for sharing. A big hug for your mom, who was one of the reasons that made me a Roller Derby fan.

I never knew she was on to tell the truth. The questioners are, I think, Bert Conway, Bill Cullins, Peggy Cass (?) and Dorothy Kilgallen, as well as Gary Moore as the host. This clip was great as well as your other game shorts!

@@RollerDerbyMarkRoman I knew that they were your parents. I wanted to go take Roller Derby training in Oakland when I wax 17. I was an avid skater. I sent off for the application to come train but my parents had to sign off for me to do it. They never would. I was ok, still love to watch old games today. I would love to skate on a banked track just once before I die.

I thought the black woman looked like Delores Tucker. I think everyone would like to know how mom came to be on this show did Jerry Seltzer ask her because someone had to supply the other two with jerseys. Also this show was taped in New York were they playing The Chiefs at this time?

I think it would have been great if Jerry had supplied the show with video of your mom skating that they could have shown after the they were done voting also it would have been cool to see the end of the show where they always shook hands.

I have the full episode of this and it does show extra footage before the show and after the show it shows all of the 3 contestants walking over and talking to the host and the judges...it’s really cool

WHAT HAPPENED TO THESE 2 JERSEYS THAT THE OTHER 2 WOMEN WERE WEARING. I WONDER IF THEY GOT TO KEEP THEM.
@RollerDerbyMarkRoman3 жыл бұрын
As far as i know the other contestants didn’t get to keep any of the Bomber Uniforms...the Bomber Uniforms were only used for the show so the judges can try and guess which one was telling the truth 😃

I remember seeing this years ago. Wow what memories! Shows my age too! Remember to finally found out Bill Cullen was a former Roller Derby Public Address Announcer though never any mention of it in any of the history books on Roller Derby.
@duanemichaels84353 жыл бұрын
True. I looked up several articles on Bill Cullen’s career after seeing him as a guest panelist on “What’s MyLine?” Not one of those articles mentioned him announcing Roller Derby games.
@georgegong68133 жыл бұрын
@@duanemichaels8435 My thoughts of Bill exactly. He might had taken himself out as a competitor too since his knowledge of the game. Though he did mention it was a different time & he didn't announce past the early years of Roller Derby too. I don't know why Bill didn't wanted to include that in his resume.

@@RollerDerbyMarkRoman that would make much sense. but props to the producers for having the other two with the same physique and decent knowledge.
