Hey Mom ... COME ON DOWN!!
Here's my mother, Hollie Lopez, on The Price Is Right in 1987. That's my dad Eddie laughing & cheering her on in the audience. It is splendid to see my 25 year old mom & 28 year old dad on TV, & to be reminded of just how long mom's hair used to be. Unfortunately my grandmother recorded this & she cut-off the very last part of the Showcase Showdown. Oh well :(

your mom and my mom have one thing in common here, they both were the first out of that 4 to be called to come on down. Rod called your mom first, and he did the same when he called my mom. I've been looking for that episode for years now.

Hi Adam! I won the showcase on "The Price is Right" show #3921D, aired December 22, 1980 (it was a Christmas show). This was really before people had VCR's, so I never was able to get a copy. Is there anyway you know of to get a copy of this show? How did you get a copy of your mom's show?

SUrprised someone winning a microwave in the 80s when they were more a luxury I guess would sell it. This was probably taped in August or September, but this is only about 10 episodes or so past the point where Bob stopped dying his hair.

this may have been the "monsoon" taping...where a rain squall kept many of the ticket holders from getting to the bob barker studio...this is evidenced by the vast number of empty seats in the camera right portion of the audience in front of the judges' table and the slate...

Fun episode, though I wish the last few minutes were included. Its sort of anti-climatic without the complete episode. I agree, there is something much more interesting about watching TPIR episodes from original recordings with commercials. If you think about it, much of this stuff is quite obscure, with few people remembering it at all in the decades since airing.
