She was a VICTIM! Not “fast.” Our community needs to do better and stop shaming girls for being themselves and start placing the blame on the ADULTS. I used to stand at the bus stop in Detroit in late 90s age 14 with my book bag on on my way to school, was tall, skinny and dressed like a boy and had grown men still trying to talk to me and offer to take me shopping and out to breakfast instead of school. Theyd try anything to get me in their cars. Why not believe there are some sick people out here and place the blame there. Stop blaming the real victims and change your language. handing down issues due to unhealed trauma is pretty normal human behaviour tbh. What is absurd is the way black women specifically are cultivated to believe that feelings are inconvenient. The resulting obligation to simply keep going instead of pausing, unpacking and healing is what perpetuates the unhealthy patterns. Trauma literally rewires the brain and given that black, female trauma is typically intergenerational and current?... whew. Expected to heal whilst being retraumatised and triggered regularly? Same here! I’ve learned when you’re a kid and you’re more gifted than your parents were/are, it makes them veryyyy uncomfortable. They can’t pretend you’re a mini-me or a doll baby, and you don’t need them as much. It’s unsettling for them. There may be some jealousy in there too, depending on their insecurities. Parents usually favor the kids that consistently need their help/guidance because it’s a dynamic that makes sense to them. People don’t love you based on what you’re worth, they love you based on how you make them feel. Learning that helped me stop taking it personally

how the mom just going to pin on her that she " feels" insecure...she said she does not ( she does not seem to be too insecure to me) the mom does not know how she " feels" unless she tell her 😲 she trying to attach " insecurity" to her....sometimes parents do more harm than good 🤦🏾♀️

That's true I was not insecure until one day my mom called me fat. Hearing that as a 14-year-old coming from your parent especially your mom? It hurts. But I'm 20 now and I know I'm beautiful big or small.
