There's a deleted scene in the. DVD where Ernest Borgnine's character calls Vincent by his birth name, showing he remembers him.

As Mom requsted, we *do* see the brother again...in the deleted scenes. They're not bad! They also clarify that the janitor, Ernest Borgnine, _did_ know who Vincent was. Easy to find on KZbin.

We had a black and white TV back then and I saw it on that. I always imagined how beautiful the sunrise scene in the solar panels would be.

The "GATTACA" letters represent DNA bases, and are emphasized in the opening and closing title lettering. Their home's spiral staircase represents DNA, that they BOTH "use". The movie addresses the concept of Epigenetics.

Looking for an EXCELLENT Ethan Hawke film? My 2 favorites are "Taking Lives" - Hawke, Angelina Jolie, Paul Dano. And "Before The Devil Knows You're Dead" - Hawke, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Albert Finney. Both EXCELLENT movies, well written, beautifully acted, with intrigue and shocking twists. Would Be difficult to edit down, don't want to miss a moment of either!!

The title refers to a sequence of DNA 🧬. The four amino acids (adenine, thymine, guanine, cytosine) always pair with their partner (a:t,g:c).

Real life story... I'm a type 2 diabetic and can't work anymore because the contractors ask for medical tests. It's ridiculous, I don't operate heavy machinery, I just drew blueprints and because of this illness I can't work anymore. I think I'll do like Jerome and just burn to death.
