Time for the first episode of MY MONTH WITH... and in January I spent the month reading some more work by Mr Ira Levin!
After reading Rosemary's Baby last year and absolutely loving it, I'm trying a couple of other books by Ira Levin, this time it's The Stepford Wives and The Boys From Brazil. Did they live up to my expectations? Watch on to find out!

So glad you had two great Ira Levin experiences! I'm going to save you some heartache: there are only two more Levin pieces you need to bother with: A Kiss Before Dying (novel) and Deathtrap (play). Everything else is definitely skippable. You should check out both the 70's Stepford Wives movie and the movie version of Boys if they ever cross your path. Both quite fun. That later version of Wives -- oof, painful. Happy weekend!

Cheers, buddy - I'll definitely get to those two books first, then I'll try the others just to see what I think but will go into them with lower expectations! 😉I've got the 70's Stepford Wives film ready and waiting for me to watch, and found The Boys from Brazil to rent online too. And yeah, that 2004 Stepford Wives - 'oof' indeed. Apart from Bette Midler as Bobbie, but then you can't beat a bit of Bette! 😀Happy Weekend to you too!

Thanks Debs! Do give Mr Levin a go, I thoroughly recommend his stuff. I'd suggest starting with Rosemary's Baby - it's definitely the best I've read. ☺

For sure, they're both great! If you want a quick read that packs a punch despite its short length, I'd start with The Stepford Wives 😊

I loved The Stepford Wives. The movie from the 70s was excellent. The remake I felt was a disaster. Another book I loved by Levin was A Kiss Before Dying.

Yep, that remake of The Stepford Wives wasn't for me! I'm going to watch the 70s version soon - have got it ready for when I've got a free couple of hours. A Kiss Before Dying is next on my to-read list of Levin's novels! Looking forward to it - will have to wait until after my Read What You Own Challenge is done though, as I'll need to buy myself a copy 🙂
