SA is a beautiful place to be if you can afford the cost of living which isn't too different to many other places, I admit. The biggest problem I have is that here, we live in fear as a result of violent crime. Perhaps it isn't as bad as we fear. It could be that most of us are mentally sick of it as a result of having fallen victim to it at some stage...

Many of my countrymen it'd appear, do not travel much on the continent. I am glad that I have been to several African countries and I loved it.. As for the crime thing, as long as you know what safety is just like anywhere around the globe, all should be well. Perhaps, some us of South Africans exaggerate the situation based upon our negative experiences.. I know it sounds a bit self-contradictory...

i have a few questions would be great and appreciated if answered: do i need yellow fever and malaria vaccines before getting to Tanzania ? in semi rural areas how abundant are scorpions or killer spiders or other formidable insects? how humid is Daressalam or Kigamboni? do houses use cooling units or central cooling? is mugging a thing there? thank you again
@theafricanjumbee1197 Жыл бұрын
Mugging is a thing in every country in the world. It can happen anywhere. Though personally, I have not had incidents here, it would be naive if I say it doesn't exist. Tanzania is a very peaceful country, though. I have been to some rural parts of tanzania, and I have not seen scorpions. If you are in safari or in the sarengeti, you would have to be careful of scorpions. You will see insects and bugs around in the daytime or at night it is normal in the tropics. Personally, what I hate the most of all is flies. I disinfect surfaces and mop at home with vinegar to minimize my encounter with flies. Is there a malaria vaccine? I don't know. In the next video, dropping today or very soon, we touch on the topic of malaria and how to prepare. Please stay tuned for that. They are insects here. Tanzania is a tropical country. You will see salamanders and lizzards inside your houses frequently. They are harmless. Dar es salaam is a costal city, therefore it is very humid during the months of November to April. You can rent a property with or without air-conditioned, the choice is yours. In my previous home, I did not have a/c. During the daytime got very hot,I simply go to the beach or find a shaded tree. At night time, the temperature drops, making sleeping comfortably with a fan. Places like arusha, Iringa, mbayea, singida, kilimanjaro, and other rural areas get really cold. One would need a light jacket or hoodie. No, you don't need a yellow fever vaccine for Tanzania. Some other African countries, you do.

About fifteen minutes drive. The beach is a paid beach. Divided in sections. One section of the beach is 1k tsh. Another is 5k. Another section is 8k tsh.the more expensive parts of the beach caters to a different clientele. After paying for your preferred section, a stamp is placed at the back of your hand. If you try crossing over to another section, the security will stop you. Tanzanians love going to the beach, not necessarily to swim but to specialize. On a Sunday afternoon, the beach is packed with people just socializing.
