I did not heared anything like this. In most of the universities classes are going to be started in September. You should confirm from your university.

There are different campus and different dormitories. UCAS will give you 1000 RMB as a residence allowance. You can select single/double/triple bed room in dormitory of your campus. Or you can also live outside in an apartment like me. Prices of rooms and apartments are different based on the location of campus.

UCAS vs USTC university, which one is better ? i know u are current UCAS, but why did u choose ucas over ustc ? wasn't it cheaper to go ustc ?!

There are so many factors to see which university is better like UCAS vs USTC. I have selected UCAS because my supervisor’s research area exactly matches with my previous research experience. Also, UCAS is in Beijing. That’s why I have selected UCAS over USTC.

Assalam o alaikum! I got admission in PhD in Environmental Sciences at UCAS (Yuquanlu Campus) under ANSO Scholarship this year. Please guide me how much money (RMB) I need to carry from Pakistan when I reach there? and when I will get my first stipend?

Walaikum salam, you need to buy a sim card for 500 to 700 RMB depends on your package. Residence permit fee is 400 RMB. You need to buy room accessories for the first time. Also need to manage your food at canteen. Roughly you should have 2000 RMB at least, it’s always better to have extra cash.

Teachers at International office say that you will hopefully get the stipend in the first or second week of September. But, it’s not sure.

Salam behn In ucas, if one avails ANSO or even Ucas scholarship Does he have to pay for dorm rent from his pocket or is it free? And second question. If one decides to leave dorm and rent apartment, doea he get the accomodation allowance? I am asking about ucas policy only, jazakallah

Walaikum Salam brother, If someone gets ANSO, CSC, or UCAS scholarship he/she didn’t have to pay the dorm fee. It will be free of cost. If you want to leave the dorm and live outside then you will start receiving the accommodation allowance along with the stipend. In UCAS they deduct the dorm fee after 4 or 6 months for students on ANSO scholarship. While for the students on CSC scholarship they deduct dorm fee every month.

Yes, China is very safe for females, dorm is also safe.. As according to my experience i didn’t hear anything bad regarding girl’s safety in China. Here in China rules and punishments are very strict for everything so i think China is very safe in every aspect 👍

Thanks. I will try to make a video on this topic soon. When you will open a new bank account you need to submit your bank account details to your institute’s coordinator. They will issue you your first stipend in your bank account after one month. So, better to take enough money with you so that you can survive for 1 month on your own.

You may not find it pre-installed. But, you can set it up separately as we did in our apartment. Some students also bought muslim showers online and installed them on their own in university dormitories.
