Me and my brother were there too. I was fresh out of the Marine Corps, living in DC. My brother flew up from Austin and we drove to Manchester, TN. He lost his wallet ( I had already paid for gas down and the hotel in Nashville) so we just had enough for a few cases of yuengling and bologna sandwiches for the weekend. We were in that crazy crowd among the mud, the blood and the beer. What an amazing weekend. He passed away late last year and here I am recalling great memories with him. He LOVED My Morning Jacket. Earlier in this set we were under a giant red tarp in the front and had an epic tarp party. Maybe you guys saw it. Maybe we even raised beers to each other. I like to thing my brother is in the heavens looking down and rockin' out. Cheers Ed!!!!

My best friend and I physically grabbed our neighbors from Canada at the camp site and literally dragged them outta bed. Went to see probably the best live shows I've ever seen, in a blinding rain storm. Unbelievable performance. Rolling Stone rated this as one of the top-5 live shows ever in the history of R&R. Awesome to have been there!

My late brother turned me onto these guys not long after "It Still Moves" came out. They are one of my favorite bands ever, and that album will always be special to me. Tremendous live band. And being a Metallica fan since around 1984 makes this performance even that much more fantastic.

I have always thought of My Morning Jacket being top shelf talent, but this colab is just awe inspiring. I have seen quite a few musicians play along side My Morning Jacket and it never ceases to amaze me they can get anyone to play with them and it doesnt matter who it is it turns out great This is truly what Bonnaroo is all about. From Dottie Peoples and the Peoples choice playing with Widespread Panic to Kirk Hammet tearing us all a metalicious asshole with My Morning Jacket Bonnaroo rules.

@corybutler5738 жыл бұрын
Dude definitely. I like Metallica somewhat but Lars is 1/3 the drummer he was in the 90's when Metallica was seriously relevant. I am a drummer myself. Patrick is fucking awesome. Not an insanely gifted technical drummer, but the kind of drummer that LITERALLY any band in the world would be thrilled to have him backing them. Doesn't miss a beat/note/drop or anything, solidly consistent and sometimes he really goes HAM on the drums and shows what he can do especially with a song like OBH

@jpconnolly8318 жыл бұрын
Just sayin' ... and full disclosure I am not a huge Kirk fan, kinda stopped listening to metallica shortly after And Justice ... but I would saw there where 3 or 4 flat notes, and the rest was shredded machine shop style. I would say thats pretty excellent considering I doubt One Big Holiday is something he practiced more than 4 or 5 times.
