Great video! My most complimented fragrance is Armaf CDNI limited edition, 9 compliments, 6 from women and 3 from men, all random strangers. My second, third and fourth most complimented are Creed Silver mountain water D&G the one luminous night and Montal intense cafe, one compliment each. 1 man and 2 women.

I’m a taxi driver in the uk and I love my fragrances…. I normally get a good idea of what people like as customers are in close proximity to me. Hands down my two most complimented fragrances have been Fierce by Abercrombie and Fitch, and Tuxedo by YSL. And I’m talking countless compliments on both. I’ve worn apparent “compliment beasts” like Layton for example without receiving a single compliment. Another one that I’ve had quite a few compliments is Uomo by Moschino, which I think is very underrated and you can pick up for around £20 online

I've got compliments on Ultra male,lol, lady said I smell yummy, then within minutes my co worker (female) said" What are you wearing"? With a smile smirk on her face, and head turns and acknowledgement. I don't wear fragrances for compliments, I wear fragrances to please myself and my environment. I can't control the world, but I will definitely control the 6ft space I possess, lol, also try not to be cloying and overspray. Although I would rather be smell good cloying than bad body odor cloying.

I'm uncomfortable with compliments, but when I receive them, with exception of Naxos, it's always cheapies or clones that receive the attention. Funnily enough, a couple of weeks ago I was at a bus stop and a lady tapped me on the shoulder and said "you always smell so nice" and a few people agreed - on that day I was wearing Bogart Pour Homme 😁Interesting video Ifi. I think it is fairly commonplace that people get compliments more on budget fragrances, possibly as they are more crowd pleasing? But it backs up the words you often say about smelling good not needing to expensive. 👍

Crowd pleasing fragrances, yes, but it’s also that synthetic part, which most of the cheap fragrances have it. I know it may sound ridiculous but synthetic fragrances may smell harsh up close but in the air they smell great.

I think a lot of people simply lie about getting compliments. Going up to somebody and asking them how you smell isn't getting a compliment - they are simply answering a question. Only fragrance I have had unsolicited compliments on a regular basis is Mercedes Benz Cologne - which is why I have about 4 backup bottles of it. Dior Sauvage has scored me a couple of compliments as has Dylan Blue.

You need to have a certain group of people that are into fragrances to get compliments. “normal” friends won’t even pay that much attention to your fragrance.

The average person's nose is used to crowd pleasing scents, which cheap, and Designer Fragrances have perfected hence why they tend to get compliments. Niche fragrances are for advanced noses, and usually not crowd pleasing scents. When you watch street reactions involving niche fragrances you start to realize the people that compliment you on those fragrances or like them are folks you would not expect, and not typical folks therefore the compliments you get from them seem more special even if it is just one.

When it comes to niche fragrances,broadly speaking,the wearer is more likely to love the fragrance than anyone else. Niche doesn't always equate to being better than designer.

@@jasonrodgers993 The quality, and how good a designer or niche fragrance is could simply come down to the perfumer and their experience. For example I really liked the designer fragrance Bulgari Man in Black, which was originally named Man Black Orient that I sampled in the past. It turns out it was created by Alberto Morillas. Hence a lot of the top selling niche and designer fragrances are made by the best perfumers.

This woman knows how to make a man smell fantastic, Prada Black & Gucci Envy perfect examples! Her track record is simply outstanding.Happy new year!

My most complimented fragrances have been Eccentric Molecule02, Versace pour Homme, Terre D'Hermes and YSLs Ultime. I have CDNIM but I'm going off it because I've been collecting fragrances for years now and my nose has gotten better. CDNIMs opening is a struggle even worse with the EDP. I may dig out my Limited edition version.

Ballsy, yet brilliant topic for a video. For me, I used to get a lot of compliments while Aventus...then my 500ml bottle ran dry in 2019, and the new batches don't quite smell (lacking that smoky birch-tar accord) nor performance that well. So no more Aventus for me. Lots of other stellar scents, but no compliments. Here are top heavy-hitters: 1) Rasasi Hawas - excellent performing fruity-freshy that is loud and the ladies just love. 2) Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme - the EDT was a compliment magic, but the new (2016) EDP doesn't perform very well and ladies can't smell it, even though it smells the same. So it went from a compliment hero, to a compliment zero. Thanks Chanel! Others that do well are Fragrance One Day (yep), Carolina Herrera CH One (the vintage leather formulation), Bvlgari Aqua Amara and Arabian Oud Kalemat. Enjoy. Cheers!

Very enjoyable video. Fragrance snobs are hysterically funny. I love reading about their self-diagnosed superior noses. I think the mark of an accomplished fragrance journey is to arrive at the point where you understand that the emperor is bollock naked. CDNIM Parfum smells exactly the same as Creed Aventus to the average person, and we are all nothing but average. I get compliments on it hours after the Creed has evaporated into nothing. They’re laughing at you.

My most complimented frags are: - Prada l homme ( almost every time from men and women but more woman) - Tom Ford noir extrem (almost every time from woman) - Aventus 16/17 batch ( most Amazed compliments also from girls ) - molecule 01 ( from people who don't give compliments) - Casamorati 1888 (very intensiv compliment from a beautiful lady - very special scent for outgoing at evening )

PVITO definitely projects better and has a lot more pineapple. My current batch of Aventus barely has any pineapple.

I own several fragrances and I got unsolicited compliments only with Halloween Man, Gucci Guilty Absolute (by a man, women who smelled it said I smelled like "a coffin" and "a dead man in formaldehyde", lol), Toy Boy Moschino and Blue Sugar by Aquolina (a very old cheapie that my mom bought for me in a fleamarket, I used to hate it because it smells like slightly burnt cotton candy to me, but my girlfriend loves it), so with perfumes that are not so talked about when it comes to compliments. I used 9PM, Mercedes Benz Club Black, LNDL (rip for the new batches) and others but I got 0 with them. So yeah, in the end it's pretty subjective in my opinion, I just bought two clones of Black Orchid plus Dareej and I'll see how it goes.

Absolute smells nothing like formaldehyde, nor anything decomposing. Common now, people will hate on things in a unnecessary way when it doesn’t speak to em. Gucci absolute will be in my collection as long as I can keep it. What a magnificent scent for a rugged man. I am waiting for the next one that fits with Gucci rush, pour Homme 1, 2, and absolute.

I have a theory: I think Aventus and frags that smell like it remind men of their fathers or men they respect because of the leather and oakmoss. Those same notes remind women of men they hated.
