For mascara, I try to never have more than 2 open at a time. The standard recommendation is to discard them after 3 months because they can harbor bacteria. I know you can't keep the numbers down because it's your job to test and review makeup, but you might consider labeling your mascaras with the date you open them so you know when to discard. My daughter has found an inexpensive one that she likes and gets it shipped every three months from Amazon. That's her cue to discard the old one.

For me I love mini eyeliners as I don’t wear them a ton so my mini urban decay eyeliners are a must have for me. I also enjoy my mini Marc Jacobs eyeliner since the full size is so expensive

Samantha! I have green eyes like you and the pillow talk liner really makes my eyes pop! I use the pillow talk quad with the burgundy liner on the lower lash line, and I use a brown eyeliner on top and also on the waterline. It’s one of my fave looks right now please try it before you declutter that liner ❤️

Girl I feel ya w the eyeliner & mascara hoarding! I’m not even an influencer n I have a shit ton also. N it pained me to see you declutter the alkaline liner from UD bc it’s my all time favorite. I don’t wear it on my waterline as much as I smudge it on my lower lash line as I do most pencil liners. N u really have gave me inspiration to declutter my collection bc I know I have liners and open mascaras that need to be tossed out. 😩 so dnt be embarrassed love, it’s just the way it goes, and I too have about 5 mascaras that r new n not opened lmao! I have a mini of the Lancome primer and I really like it. I use it with mascaras that don't give enough lift and volume. It allows me to use up mascara I would otherwise toss.😉

My guess is that Flower is phasing our of Ulta. Because they have several new collections on their brand website and seem pretty in stock with everything. It seems like Target would be a better place for Flower, with their new almost like Sephrora beauty section. less cramped and more able to show off their line, like they do with Honest and similar brands.

Another great declutter. I love seeing how different everyone is. I literally have 3 eyeliners...total. I just never remember to use it, it isn’t a product I like to purchase, I hate trying to get it off at night, or if I decide I want to use it, I never end up with the “sharp” look I want. I usually look messy. But it always looks great on you, and I wish I could pull it off!

The Buxom mascara is my favorite, but not for using alone. I don't know what it is about the formula or brush, but I use it every day with another mascara that I switch out and it "fixes" any issues with the other mascara. Too clumpy? Buxom gets rid of the clumps and separates out the lashes, not enough volume? Buxom to the rescue, etc it's some kind of magic in conjunction with other mascaras. On its own, it doesn't give me enough of everything that I want. I will never be without it though.

That's not an embarrassing eye pencil collection at all! Eyeliners multiply like rabbits. If you want to winnow them down to the ones you love, absolutely, but that's not a crazy amount, particularly the UDs which are awesome and seem to last forever. I do try to keep my open mascaras limited because I throw them away after 3 - 4 months.

I just de-cluttered starting with eyeshadow palettes. Several years of collecting, buying and receiving in makeup monthly boxes. Plus eyeshadows is my favorite makeup product. I love creating new looks everyday. It’s my therapy. ❤️

One of the mascaras I'm using right now is the CoverGirl and I like it, I'm on my 2nd or 3 tube of it. But sometimes you just want to try something new so I'm going to try the Kokie next since you've said it's not bad twice now i figure it cant hurt to give it a shot 🤗 I can't use the essence, I had an allergic reaction to it ☹ That pink Sigma liner was gorgeous, I'm going to have to see if they still make that 💖💖💖

Drugstore really does good eyeliner and mascara. It’s probably the only drugstore product I’ll buy religiously. I am kind of a drugstore snob but eyeliner/mascara I really can’t tell a difference.

With mascara, I find it helpful to write down the date I open them. It's one of those products that just get nasty after being open and closed too often/over time. If it's used up before I feel like it's been open too long - great, if not it eventually passes a time I'd feel comfortable putting it on my eyes.

Your collection is an okay size for sure - I was feeling personally attacked when you started getting rid of all those colours as colourful eyeliners are my jam. I am with you on the CT eyeliners being amazing and worth the steep price tag! I have one liquid liner and I need to teach myself to use it quarantine is the best time right?!? The Dior mascara primer is my holy grail I always will buy it that one is what I would recommend I tried the lancome and it didn't work as well as the Dior. You did a great job decluttering!

I have had that problem too. BROADWAY has an eyeliner that comes with a sharpener in the cap & it works so good, gets them super sharp. I've only found that brand at dollar stores, dollar general & family dollar & now that I think about it it's a brow pencil not eye liner.. & they $1-$2

I guess I'm not as adventurous with liners as you are LOL. I have Whiskey (brown) & Mildew (my one color, pretty moss green) UD 24/7 and I love both. I also use the Clinique Pretty Easy liquid liner in brown. Whiskey & the Clinique have both been repurchases for me. After seeing this, maybe I'll branch out (a little) with some other colors in UD or try the Pur eyeliners.

I cannot figure out eyeliner. I must have shaky hands because I always end up with a ridiculous line going on to my lid. A wing is a total mystery. I have tried several times and it has never been even “ok”. I have very hooded eyes. I try to tight line too but again can’t get it. Anyone got a trick? I watch videos and nothing has helped. Haha!

So I think I might have you beat on this one. I have over 20 eyeliners and I NEVER wear them. If you go and watch any of my older videos, I just don't do eyeliner. As a Cosmetologist I can do an amazing eye liner on other people. However, my eye site is HORRIBLE so I can't actually see when my glasses are off to do eye liner on myself. There is no ACTUAL reason for me to have 1 eye liner let alone 20 of them.
