I've never played through Dark Souls (I'm too lazy) so I had no idea what the real Aldrich looked like. Seeing that screenshot of the worm-y creature evoked a visceral horror reaction that contrasted nicely with the fact that your final result is ASTONISHING. Absolutely incredible work.

@@virginiasantiagofox6461 The " "F" to pay respects "--often abbreviated to just "f" meme comes from the Call of Duty game series that at one point got so gratuitous with 'interactive' cutscenes that didn't need player input in the slightest and just ground the game's immersion, emotional weight, plot and pacing to a halt until you pressed the button. This particular prompt came from a soldier's funeral scene which was considered particularly egregious.

fun fact about Aldrich: he himself is actually just the weird evil slug body! when you encounter him in-game, he's halfway through eating Gwindolyn (hence the title "Devourer of Gods") and partially re-animates his meal to help fight you. the part of him that looks like a pretty masked man is actually just Gwindolyn's half-devoured corpse being controlled by an eldritch monstrosity. yikes!

The doll as a whole is a knock-out, I like the staff, helmet, and Cape. I'm not familiar with Dark Souls outside of "fandom osmosis" but Alderich's concept is pretty disturbing. Between title, his "true form" and me questioning if he is "wearing" the torso of a previous victim. About the contest, do we have to design with specific doll brands in mind?

Yeah we walk in on him mid munch, if you pay attention during the bossfight within the game you can hear Gwyndolin making sounds, still alive as he's being eaten, it's some pretty gruesome stuff
