I've had the same for five years. One thing I've realized ,is that motivation is overrated. If you only draw when you're motivated you'll find yourself barely drawing in a whole year. You should change your attitude about art. It should be fun not tedious. If you don't wanna draw just quit entirely but if you do wanna draw motivation and depression shouldn't be an excuse. tough love

It’s obvious that you have (don’t be offended before you finish reading pls 😏) natural talent, HOWEVER this video shows that you have put in a TON of admirable, thoughtful, purposeful work in for your craft on observation, gesture, structure, value, composition, color, anatomy, different mediums, and on and on. So many skills were covered here. I have no clue how you had the time to complete this body of practice. Truly inspiring!

this was fascinating to watch!! i really want to get back into traditional art at least for sketching, and this really helped boost my motivation to do so. i gasped when you showed the half alive pages! the still feel music video was the subject of one of my last traditional sketches wayy back before i made the switch to digital art. i literally saw them in concert two weeks ago! maybe this is a sign of sorts to get back into sketching haha.

everyone uses them differently! but yea I mainly use my sketchbooks for ideas and first stages of making a piece, along with some general art studies and practice! I’m glad this helps you feel less alone and intimidated 💖🥹
