Listen civ div i know from person experience its hard to give yourself credit . Its like every time ive tried my best, i look back and say i "could have" donr better. I'm done falling for could haves and should haves. I know just in life and in general ,things happen. War in general at least from my own perspective as an outsider, i mean look at it. Coming off ops, returning home for a break, I'd sleep through the night and most of the next day I was that tired of the last few months. I was lucky at the time because I had a niece who was 6 years of age, so instead of drinking etc, I'd take her out, cinema, shopping, McDs. This brought me back down to earth and normalised me. Operation Urgent Fury, Operation Just Cause and the absolute worst time for me was was Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield, I was a boom operator on a kc-135 stratotanker. Must have offloaded over 100 million pounds of fuel. I don't know if anyone's familiar with the kc-135 but with a boom operator works in the rear of the aircraft you're actually laying on your belly on this most uncomfortable metal bench and your chin rest in a stirrup on Long flights it wasn't much better in the fuselage some of the KC135s had pretty close to what an airline seat would be but most of the time I didn't have that luxury some flights and sorties and missions what's 10 to 12 hours flight time not including Mission briefing and debriefing. Not saying that I had it worse than anybody I probably had it better than most but still the subject is war sucks and it sure does
