lol I need to make sure I listen carefully to each video as I may get name checked! I saw that Short Back was rereleased but it’s amazing any store would carry it. I’ve been to GOS in DC but not the other locations.

Great show, ya nutter! 😉 I remember the “daze” when Ian Hunter was played on NY FM rock radio. “Central Park n’ West” was the big emphasis track from that particular platter you held up. Great songwriter, man. Keep up the groovilicious, nutritious and delicious work that you do here! Even if l don’t comment, l still watch every video! Cheers! ~ Davey Cretin, AKA Chauncey Marwood Oglethorpe III, from Cretin Classics.

Haha! Thanks Davey! Good to know. This is my first experience with this Ian Hunter album. I have a lot of the later albums but I have to dig deeper into the older ones. I just picked up Overnight Angels recently and I dig it. It actually reminds me of the albums that Frank Zappa was doing at the time but more craftsmanship and less vulgarity. Thanks Davey! All good. I do the same with your channel. I WILL put my favorite Dream Theater songs up in the next day or two. - John the Music Nut. Ben Ogilvie had some good years with the Brewers. Think he led the league in ribbies one year.

I got my vinyl copy of You're Never Alone with a Schizophrenic at Easton Exchange in Easton when I was in PA two years ago. I found a nice vinyl copy of Ian Hunters first solo album at a garage sale this summer. Someone gave me about 100 CDs recently. Most are not my thing but have been giving some a listen. However, there were a few I needed. There were others that I have on vinyl that I may hold onto just in case. Finally, my first love went to college in Wilkes-Barre but that was a long time ago. She was from New Jersey originally and I met her when she was living in Omaha.

Small world, isn't it Byron? Yep, I grew up less than 5 miles from both Kings and Wilkes College. Oh nice! I love both of these Ian albums. You were given 100 CDs? Cool! Glad you were able to fill in some gaps with them. Cheers!

Atta boy, John. You got the big ass bag of CD’s! I wish I had a local outlet to buy new music. We have 2 used CD/Vinyl stores. Just about all my new album purchases are online. That new Tears For Fears album just arrived in the mail yesterday. I bought it for the new tracks. I will be curious to get your impressions of the new songs. Thanks for the heads up on the new Pinnick album!

I did DC! Sorry to hear that, it seems I hear more and more about there being fewer independent music stores. I feel blessed we still have 2 Gallery of Sound stores nearby. They once had 11 stores. You know, I just put those CDs in the 5-disc changer and I will check them out tomorrow. I will let you know how I feel once I've digested them. You're very welcome. I listened to the new Pinnick twice today. It kicks tail! Cheers!

So the live recording for the new Tears for Fears is excellent! The sound here is so immaculate, just like when I saw them in 2022. I like the new songs but I will definitely digest them further. So far my favorite is "Astronaut". Cheers DC!

@ Hey John. It’s funny that your response is the first message here this morning as I just got around to listening to the new Tears For Fears last night. You are so right about the live performance. You are RIGHT THERE! Sound is immaculate and a top notch performance! The four new songs are also excellent! Would have been nice to have a full album of new material but I’ll take this package! Everything about it is top shelf!

Great stuff John ! I also picked up the Tears for Fears live album. The new tracks are fantastic and the live recording sounds great !! I picked up the new Whitesnake Into The Light and the new Nightwish album. Good stuff. Also got the new Queen 1 remix on cd. It sounds fantastic ! I Love the band Tool. Can't wait for that series. Thank you John. Chez

Thanks Chez! And thanks for the tip on the new Tears for Fears since I actually haven't listened to it yet. It's in the changer so I will digest it tomorrow. Great to hear that about the new Queen remix also. I checked out that Whitesnake package and wow, that's quite impressive for the price! I have yet to hear Nightwish. Great to hear that you love Tool. It will be a few months but I have to do that one. This will take much preparation to do it justice as you can imagine! Cheers!

You are so spot on regarding the live recording, Chez! This is exactly how they sounded when I saw them in 2022. I also like the new songs, my favorite of them being "Astronaut". Cheers!

Yes, that new Queen remix is excellent! More clarity and separation between instruments and vocals. I have been listening to that album since 1973 and I am uncovering and hearing new things with this remix!

Given you’re a big Kings X and DUg Pinnick fan, have you ever checked out his band with George, KXM? That’s a big haul man! I remember the last time I bought a CD in a Brick and motor store and it was Heaven Upside Down by Marilyn Manson in 2017. After that music pretty much ceased to exist in stores around here. So I resort to buying everything online or digitally.
@JohntheMusicNut12 күн бұрын
Hey Jake! I like KXM but I don't have any of the albums. Thanks! Yeah, I did good on this one and to see that Dug had a new one out was a nice surprise! That sucks man and like I said to DC in a comment on here, it's sad that there are less independent music stores and many music fans can't have that experience near home like I fortunately still can. I still buy online on occasion. As much as I love Gallery of Sound, they don't have everything, even if you try to special order it. Cheers!

@ I don’t have any of KXMs CDs either. They were coming out at a point when George was releasing something every year. In hindsight I think I should have bought them, as they were better than some of the other offerings he was releasing. How is that Tears for Fears Cd? I admit I only know their hits, but I figure something like that might not be a bad thing to check out ?
@JohntheMusicNut10 күн бұрын
@@JakesMusicState Yeah, George and Dug had a ton of projects going there for awhile. I do enjoy this new Dug more than the last King's X release, Three Sides of One. The new Tears for Fears CD is excellent! The live recording is immaculate and sounds just like they did when I saw them in 2022. I like the new studio tracks also. It is heavy on the tracks from the latest album, The Tipping Point, but you also have most of the hit singles here as well.
