Aside from my Strawberry Cake, this recipe is my most requested meal. We have it frequently and if I need to take a meal to a family in need, this is the recipe I use. Everyone always loves it.

Made this for dinner tonight, and it was a huge success. I added a pack of onion soup mix to the sour cream and cream of chicken soup, and served it over egg noodles. Delicious!

A friend of my mother's gave her a similar recipe that i made a few times and loved it. Recipe is long lost at least 20 years ago. But it was the shredded chicken, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, diced water chestnuts and the topping was stuffing mix. Ive been meaning to just throw it together and see how it comes out.

This was my Grandma's recipe except we mix the chicken with the soup which makes it easier to spread out and we put poppyseed in our topping.

I've been making this for 40 years. It's very kid friendly. First time I took it to a church dinner, my friend didn't like the name, so she changed it to chicken "glop" casserole. 😅 Not a very appetizing name, but she makes all the time now too.

Stir in 1-2 T. poppyseeds and you'll have Poppyseed Chicken. It's really good over buttered egg noodles, too. We also love steamed broccoli with it for a complete meal.

Looks very tasty. Always enjoy your videos. Just wish the canned soups were not so loaded with sodium. Then if you add the onion soup mix like someone suggested, plus the sodium in the Ritz crackers.....WOW. I know someone will comment that this is something we wouldn't eat every day. I agree. I'm making these comments for those of us who must watch their sodium intake due to high blood pressure or kidney issues. ❤❤❤

Campbell’s makes low sodium soups. I think they have low sodium cream of chicken. I would not add the onion soup, it is over the top in sodium. Maybe just some finely chopped onion.

Or you can add onion powder or the dried onion flakes instead of the onion soup to make it less salty. Also you can use unsalted butter and use bread crumbs or low sodium crackers instead. It helps cut back a little on that sodium. 😊
