This is a video that I love bc this particular style is a style that I have literally worn for 20 plus years. I still wear to this day a long Navy cashmere coat from Anteprima from the 90’s and if you saw it, you would think it’s brand new. Point being I love quality pieces and I know if Emma is featuring her favorites, I can trust that they are either extremely practical or of the highest quality or both. I can’t get enough of anything that has a marine stripe or is in the color white, black, navy, or grey. Something could be wrong with me but that’s all I wear. Why buy anything else once you figure out what it is you reach for constantly? Right? ❤

I agree, once you find something classic in styling, that's good quality and suits you never let it go! I have a ridiculous amount of wool coats and as my daughter is now a teen her clothes are starting to take over so I'm having to downsize, I've been heartbroken at the things I've had to let go but there are certain coats I'd never part with . I'm a stripe person too, but mainly monochromes as I'm a bit "emo" lol your coat sounds gorgeous, 90s styling is back in a big way, so much so I've given treasured items I've kept from when I was a teen in the 90s to my now teenage daughter. She complains when I describe stuff I had, or sees pics of me wearing things as I never kept them for her, I tell her I couldn't see in to the future and when I was her age I couldn't imagine having a 17 year old. Times goes too fast lol

@@Glesga_lassie I can really relate to you and not seeing into the future and not knowing how useful certain items we purchased in the past will be. I am also downsizing and it was in that process that I have been deciding what to hold onto and what to relinquish. For example, I really do not have a lifestyle for heels anymore and I have a beautiful collection of designer heels. I just discovered this morning that my oldest son’s new girlfriend has the same size as me. I am glad I didn’t get rid of them now. lol. I would much rather gift them to someone who will cherish them. Also because in re-sale the value of a shoe depreciates enormously even if you have only worn them a few times. Point being ( sorry for rambling) don’t cull things in a hurry, try to put them away if you have the space because I have a couple of things that I really regret getting rid of. Emma! I really appreciate your unique sense of style and that you let yourself evolve, but you also know what looks good on you! I wear sunglasses outdoors virtually all daylight hours. Living in a city, I find the glare from all the reflective surfaces uncomfortable without them. The only time I can skip them is when in the green countryside without roads, buildings, cars, etc. They are also cool.

Love this video. Although I like to wear some colors beyond the neutrals (dark forest green, royal blue) and I prefer white gold, we share the same principles like minimal branding, no heels, comfort above all, natural materials, secondhand but grand, sustainable and long lived items etc. Love your channel! Any tips for how to prevent knitwear casting onto darker coloured wool coats? It drives me absolutely mad, I can't wear my Cos and Arket light coloured jumpers with my black and navy coats as they cast all over them, not so much with black on to cream and camel wool coats but still to a degree. I end up going out in total black most of the time, in fact scarves too!! My wool scarves also cast, my McQueen and All Saints ones are ok as they're modal but anything with wool... I only wear about 5 percent of my winter wardrobe (all blacks)because I hate looking untidy. I have one Cos jumper dress in light grey which is the absolute devil for it! Have to debobble in every bloody time as it gets everywhere! At this point I'll be taking my wee stick roller in my bag on the go 🤣 I ADORE your bag btw, have coveted it since you got it. Might punt my Mulberrys and get one, is the strap adjustable at all? I'd need it like nger possibly. Love your hair too :)

Unfortunately that’s just the nature of natural fibres like wool, alpaca, cashmere etc. The only way to get around it is to wear synthetic fabrics (as they don’t shed like natural fibres) but if you’re anything like me then that’s probably a hard pass 🙊

Great video Emma and great outfits. Totally agree with you on if something fits and looks good, I’ll buy multiple colours too. Finding the perfect beanie can be tricky, you can end up with the condom head look you mentioned 🙊 or like a member of East 17 😂 (showing my age lol) I really like the & Other stories ones. Sunnies are such an essential, the winter sun can be brutal when driving, and who needs more eye wrinkles 😎 Plus being diabetic I’m always wanting to look after and protect my eyes.
