Wat a hearthtouching story😭. It reminds me of our people in village living a luxurious life in town, when their parents dying to support them and try not to let them down before thier friends, but they never know how thier parents struggle and missed them😭😭😭. There is no forbidden lines a mother wouldn't cross to convene to her child's needs, although oftentimes, children feel ashamed of their mothers to the point of denying them because of their standard. What a shame! This was a very emotional skit, Philo, with a powerful message. I sense although you were acting, even you feel the cruelty of the action and the woman's pain. I feel the pain and remorse in Philo's heart are unbearable after she saw her friend's mother who happens to be as poor as her mom and because of whom she trashed her own mom. What makes it more painful is that the mother is dead and can't be reconciled with to ease the pain. She has learned this lesson for life.

I think colonialism and slavery are to blame for such behavior among Africans both at home and in the diaporas. We at home feel ashamed to identify with our people that have less western orientation and our siblings in the diasporas don´t want to identify with Africans. Generally the closer to the white people we are the more inferior we feel and the more the desperation, to disconnect from our root that we have been deceived into believing is backward.
