The obvious rebuttal is to tell the MIL in front of everyone " But MIL not everyone's like you and has doubts about their child's father" because it sounds like she's projecting her own actions when she was younger. 😅

To avoid in-law issues, I set boundaries when we first met. At no time were they to ever come to our home unannounced or uninvited. And at no time were their options about what goes on in our home welcomed. After all, their son moved in with me upon marriage, not the other way around. He didn't even own a vehicle. I only allowed him to drive my vehicle when I was present in the vehicle, to appease his delicate male ego, however he wasn't covered under my insurance, as he wasn't old enough nor responsible enough as a male driver under the age if 30. I was insured under the same policy as my parents, which didn't extend to my husband. He didn't like that and wouldn't purchase one as my husband, so I wouldn't change my insurance to cover him using my vehicle.

You know there is a time a place for everything! If the MIL had a real concern the celebration was NOT the place to express it. She sabotaged the whole gathering with her remarks. She picked the right one to mess with though because that would have been her first and last time at my house!

I would not forgive my MIL for causing doubts and trying to break up the marriage. She would no longer be allowed to have any interaction with me nor the child who she was basically denying was her grandchild. Her son could continue speaking with her but I wouldn't

Did they actually give an explanation as to why she was being such a 🐄 to her DIL and so nasty to her grandchild? I would be watching 'that woman' for MANY years after that bit of a$$ flashing, to be sure! He would NEVER spend the night at 'granny's.'

Maria, you earned yourself a permanent home in Isolationville after you caused both Alex and Elisa to sever all connections with you all because you decided to spread falsehoods about Alex NOT being Daniel's dad to the point where Alex, Elisa, and Daniel had to take DNA tests and proved you wrong. Not only did Lisa and Alex distance themselves from you but so did both Alex's family and Elisa's family.

Im sorry, not popular opinion but with all these paternities being suspicious and men paying for kids that arent theirs, it should be a standard when a child is born to get a paternity test. Yes mil went about it the wrong way, and if husband had no doubts, she was out of bounds but cant blame her tbh. Sorry not sorry
