My daughter’s first name is Lesley (in her early twenties). She has not missed any single news related to this event since the kids were found and the name of Lesley (the older sister) came up. Lesley did an incredible job looking after her siblings. By her first words « I am hungry » you can tell the amount of sacrifices she endured to ensure the younger ones are well.

That is the most beautiful thing, how completely right to acknowledge trauma, providing immediate safety by connecting family, and then, there in the spot of trauma and loss they do a ceremony to leave those burdens there. How deeply compassionate, healing and profoundly human if only all people where this wise and well.

As with the boys trapped in the cave in Thailand we've seen here the strong connection the indigenous population have with their ancestral spirit world and Mother Earth. We can learn so much from these people.

@@againstthegraingolf301 I agree that they were both amazing stories of survival and rescue. I was commenting on that BS sentence “strong connection with their ancestral spirit and Mother Earth.” These kids in the rainforest learnt from their family how to survive in that cruel nature. It’s all about practical skills, and certainly nothing to do with anything supernatural. Nature (Mother Earth?) wants to poison, wound, disease, infest, and eat you.

This story is unbelievable, the resilience from the kids, but also the human quality of these resquers. If you are a native Spanish speaker like me, you can tell that since they are indigenous, Spanish is not their natural language and they speak it odd, which makes it more memorable to me, it adds meaning and quality to each of their heroic words, just as a curiosity.
@donotsupportterroristgroups Жыл бұрын
Their Spanish was perfect, they have a different accent of what you may be familiar with.
@korth26 Жыл бұрын
@@donotsupportterroristgroups no dude, I know regular colombian is just a different accent. But if you ever travel latin american and indigenous communities like i did in mexico, you get to know that they do speak it as second language, which is awesome in itself. so this is the case, trust me. at the end, when explaining how they did the little ritual, he messes the word even more. this is not to remark nothing negative, on the contrary.
