They can certainly do a lot of damage when used improperly, and I'm sure most people who've used one have a nick or two. That being said, a lot of people love them, and that's why I made this video. For safety reasons, I prefer to use a fixed-blade knife when cutting through joints. All that being said, the worst cut we've had on a trip was with a fixed-blade knife. The scalpel is a quick teacher!
