Listened to My Music regularly but this is the first time I ever saw Steve Race's face.

Race had a nice jazz program on ITV mid 70s. My mother hated it, but I still love jazz.

OMG, I had no idea they did one TV episode! Thank you so much! I listened to this and My Word! for a while in the 70s on WFMT, the classical station in Chicago. Then I started listening again in the 80s. I even bought a shortwave radio to listen to them on the World Service! And most recently I listened to webcasts when they were still being repeated on FM stations, and finally on Radio Australia.

Which is more than Classic Fm will ever do with their endless repetitive playlists of all the 'nice' bits.

Listened regularly to this prog on radio; wasn't aware it had been on TV. Back in 1966 I worked with an attractive young lady called Nicola..and to this day I can still wistle the tune to Steve Race's 'Nicola'. (Much later found out that she married a Kelly!)

By Jove, I remember My Music when growing up, especially Steve Race. Here I would have been a 16 year old YTS trainee, having left school in the summer. My father turned 54 that day!

Good to see an edition of this at last, moreso to put a face to the voice of Steve Race (Did an excellent turn on Many a Slip). Janet Staplehurst did many a year on stopwatch/whistle/scoring duties on Just a Minute following Ian Messiter vacating the position in the late 80s.

Nothing like it these days on our 'channel of culture ', which now covers all cultures but ours.

Strange how they once thought that radio shows could simply be transferred directly into visual media - television for the blind, where nothing actually happens!

The show was incorrectly introduced as Face The Music!

Indeed, that was a different programme entirely. Nice to see this again.

I think it was the expression face the music being used rather than the title of the other program. Presentation were allowed to do that kind of thing back then.

@@montyf2165That was presented by Joseph Cooper and would have been in the 70s, my formative years!
