First, I love the philosophy of "I'm trying to not be wrong but I'm not really trying that hard to be right either." And second - the absolute longest lasting manicures I get are when I use Maniology's Smudge Free Topcoat which is for like nail art and nail stamping and stuff. And it's real thin so I still use a quick dry topcoat on top (I'm still a slave to Seche Vite) but I swear, that Smudge Free Topcoat keeps polish on my nails like nothing I've ever used and that's not really even what it's for. I don't get it but it's remarkable.
@jessFACE90

I just got a package from Maniology last week and that topcoat was in it. I'm going to have to give that a try!
@nda7154
@nda7154 2 жыл бұрын
Interesting, because while I love how this polish doesn’t smudge nail art, I find it actually starts peeling up after a couple days, even when I use a good quality top coat on top of it. It peels up way sooner than a regular topcoat, I think because it’s water based, so the adhesion is different. Maybe I need to paint thinner with the no smudge and see if the results are any different.
@maryhelen7588
@maryhelen7588 2 жыл бұрын
@@nda7154 Huh. Yeah - I only get 2-3 days with pretty much any top coat except this one. (IF that, tbh. I often get chips within 24 hours). But lots of times I only put nail art + Smudge Free on a few fingers and those always last longer than all the rest. I guess everything's different on everyone!

I'm currently using sally hansens cuticle massage cream. It's has a light apricot scent, very thick. So you don't need a lot of it. It's making my dry skin around my cuticles practically gone. I like a lot of Trader Joe's products. I'm using their Jojoba oil for my nail and hands, alternating with their Marula oil. I also use Lucas' Papaw Ointment--which is great for the face, too. Wash your face, splash it with cold water, then put a thin layer of the jojoba on your face followed by a small amount of the papaw ointment. It's wonderful!

thank you! I need this so bad. I, after watching your and Nail Polish Baby 90 for years, decided to start my own channel. Anywho.....I have done 3 videos and in the last one my nails looked awful. One thing that's helped me that I just discovered last night was baby oil gel. My skin is super dry especially, for some reason, my pointer finger right below the knuckle. It's ridiculous. The baby oil gel helped that. Also, for a brush, if you've ever order Olive and June mani or pedi systems, they have a pretty good brush in those. Glad to see you back! :). I highly recommend trying Gorgeous Natural Nails Nail and Cuticle oil to help get your right hand on par with your left. I also use and swear by GNN. Jess, you also mentioned that your polish cracks and peels at the corners. I have a tip for that. About 15 mins after applying top coat on your manicure, gently rub a bead of cuticle oil over your nail. It will absorb into your polish and make it more pliable and less prone to cracking/flaking!!

I love my TwinkleT cleanup brush. It’s their Kolinsky #2 brush. I’ve used the same one for literally five years and it’s still going strong. I do wait for it to dry after I use it with acetone to clean my manicure, then use jojoba oil on it, just to be sure it stays in good shape but it doesn’t take any care other than that. Great video! My nails also curl on the sides when they get too long. What I do is file the sides to get rid of the curving, if I want to keep them long. This gets rid of that strong c curve, that I absolutely hate. If I'm tired of the length and I'm ready to file them down, I do that also. I've been using glass files for years but today I used a regular file with 100/80 grit, and it really took a lot of nail off and quickly too. As for clean-up brushes, I use the KB Shimmer one. Thanks for coming back to us! 😸 As always a super informative video! The last couple of years I've been on a quest. My nails chips and get "flakey" whatever I do! My right (and dominant) hands index's peeling like it really hates me and can't stand to stay on me! Sometimes the nail gets so thin it's actually painful. Do you (or anyone else for that matter) have any tips on how to get my nails to at least stop peeling? I use a glass file, mostly by habit, so I've been thinking of switching it up with something else, ANYTHING else, to see if that helps, but what to use instead? I know I have an old diamond file from OPI laying around here somewhere, but aside from that I don't know what else to do to get rid of this problem. Help!?! 😿🙀
