As a nail tech, someone appreciating these details thrills me. I love it when someone has a crooked finger or a nail that grows crooked, and i get to manipulate the acrylic or gel to make the nails all look uniform. I take great pride in my work because I LOVE doing nails. I love how people light up when they see their fresh set when i finish. They feel good, it makes me feel good. I feel really fortunate to have a job thats so centered around happiness abd satisfaction.

Are you located in Southern California, by any chance? Do you have any advice on finding a nail technician that pays special attention to details like you do? I haven’t gotten my nails done in a few years, bc I have been hurt and cut by multiple nail technicians who were not paying close attention and/or working too quickly. I would love to find someone who is passionate like you. ❤️

Yes!! Honestly I don’t do nails but the job is do as an IV nurse gets monotonous at times…..but when someone has weird anatomy or is truly a difficult patient to gain IV access and I get to flex the art muscles of my technical skills with the ultrasound…. And follow it up with the “arts and crafts” of taping it to their specific size and anatomy. Oh boy do I get excited to figure out their perfect set up. It really says a lot about dedication and love for your job when you can evolve and adapt your skills and technique to each individual client. Clients can’t change their fingers to fit your work but you CAN change your technique and approach to fit their fingers. I applaud your hard work!

As a nail tech, I just wanna clarify a point that your nail artist must use a technique called "russian manicure" or "dry manicure" to achieve that look for your cuticle. It looks great and makes your nails flawless, but it comes with a price - more time, more skill, more expensive. The reason why I need to write this comment is because some people complaint about their nail techs don't do the same. Nothing wrong with these nail techs, they just don't know the technique or the salon doesn't require them to know. For anyone who wants that "russian/dry manicure", I highly recommend you look for professional nail salons where they specify in that technique to make sure their work meets your expectation.
@isobel643 күн бұрын
Also be willing to pay the price. They want this look yet expect to pay $50 for a set, please
@Meaniej02 күн бұрын
Girl stop! If ur not a good nail tech just say ur not good! doing a cuticle trim and blending the jell so nicely should never be extra $$ it's a trick salons have mastered to excuse their poor skills or a way to skimp on time! I have gotten amazing manicures like hers at everyday salons at normal prices an they didn't call it a "Russian manicure" they were just simply equipped with the right schooling and mentors but, apparently Russian salons just demand better from their employees and where they have trained!!! I'm a dog groomer it's the same with our business, the cute hair cuts u see on some dogs arent more expensive u can just tell who is skilled and who isn't. But when it comes to dying a dog's coat that will cost you more because it's an EXTRA SERVICE! These nail techs aren't offering anything extra with a "Russian manicure" they are simply well schooled!

Honestly, 2 hours for that kind of work is impressive!!! The transition from your real nail to the extension is very smooth. Also, the attention to the growth pattern of your finger is impeccable. She’s focused on making sure this set lasts and looks amazing for the duration of it. I don’t know why comments are saying it’s thick. Something is being added on top of an existing object. Matter doesn’t just disappear into the void LOL. You wouldn’t want it to be paper thin because it’d break. Credit card thickness is the goal for stability and strength.

I don’t get really why in the US they call russian manicure “unhealthy” because of the clean cuticles. Blunt scissors, unsterilised instruments (full step I mean), lack of disposable tools (nail files, sticks, brushes, gloves), lack of medical and anatomical approach during the training process - that’s what unhealthy to me. While there is nothing wrong with professionally and carefully opened and filed cuticles.

She does fantastic work (impressed it only took 2 hours). Your apex is built up perfectly and the cuticle work is phenomenal. To anyone whose nails curve downward when they grow them out, try to always keep a coat of something on your natural nail. Even if it's just a strengthener (like Hard As Nails or Nail Envy) or a quick coat of clear/natural-looking polish. This makes my nails grow straight instead of curling down like talons when I leave them bare. It also helps protect them from getting weak and brittle while cleaning/working/etc.
