That’s why DOTS, a romcom, as his comeback was quite surprising to his long time fans. The success of the latter series proved that he is one of the rare versatile actors in S.Korea.

Are you guys literally forgetting that Song Joong Ki played an Italian mafia consigliere in a kdrama setting? Werewolf boy and Innocent Man are great... but his acting in Vincenzo series was LITERALLY leagues above all of his past projects. His acting in Vincenzo is UNMATCHED. Not to mention, Vincenzo wasn't even a romcom, and yet Song Joong Ki pulled his acting off 100/100. Werewolf boy and innocent man can't even compare to his current level of acting anymore, not even DOTS too (since it was just cheesy romcom). Vincenzo is his new level now and he showed new levels of skills there. And now we get this new film? Can't wait to see what he's showing next here.

⁠@@jiunnji3267vincenzo is not a rom com but has a lot more comedic elements in it i mean it’s even described as “dark comedy” genre so it’s definitely a lot different than a lot of his other more darker and melodramatic work. i just think he has always been a great actor i mean a werewolf boy is a classic and his performance in that movie is highly praised. innocent man and arthdal chronicles aren’t as popular as his other works but i thought he was amazing in both! his most recent work reborn rich was also a hit... i mean yea he was amazing in vincenzo but that’s not his only praise worthy work!

I love when acttors are broken down and dismantled in a way that the only way they can shine is by their talent. similar to Charlize Theron in my opinion is very beautiful but when she is in a role you don't see model you see the persona they are playing. I hope to see this guy in western films, he is amazing talent.

Looking forward to this! I really appreciate k drama that let actors act! Nothing against the constant stream of kpop idols doing roles in tv etc but there is a clear difference in the quality of performance with a trained actor over a kpop idol. Song Jong Ki has stepped up to the plate, honed his skill and watching his acting skills in new and varied roles is a viewers delight. Netflix has not been a disappointment in providing k drama !

[SPOILER ALERT] I have read some negative reviews about this movie saying it has potential but they took it in the direction of rushed romance. I disagree. Life is unpredictable. This movie captures Loh Kiwan’s struggles and subsequently the circumstances that lead him and Ma Ri to fall in love with each other. I personally love how the leads have eccentricities and that attributes to them being able to connect with each other. They both don’t fit into regular society. Pain recognises pain. Them finding each other ends up saving them , giving way to a desire to live a good life. One can only enjoy a book or a movie if it’s followed through without any expectations. Song Joong-ki speaks a different dialect, embodies a refugee who is living in fear and trying very hard to live through hell. He portrayed the character to perfection. For me this was a fantastic movie. Song Joong-ki is a fantastic actor. If only people could stop expecting a movie, a work of art to be confined to a genre, art would be appreciated better. My name is Loh Kiwan was 10/10 for me.
