Nos actually isn't flammable it just has more oxygen in it than air and the more oxygen on a fire makes the fire gets bigger. So it basically helps the gasoline burn more.

Well yes and no, you can install a Nitrous system (the lines, switch, solenoids, relays) you just can’t drive down the road with the bottle hooked up. So as long as your bottle is disconnected and your car passes emissions (If your state has that), it’s legal. I wouldn’t suggest driving around with a NOS bottle in your car as the NOS is compressed at around 1000 PSI, if you get in a wreck, that high pressure gas can shatter the bottle, and 1000 pounds per square inch of gas will be released, so that’s a combustible hazard. Nitrous also may not be flammable, but if you get in a wreck and your car is on fire, Nitrous breaks down at like 500 degrees, which means there will be a lot of oxygen that will be released and the last thing you want a fire to have is oxygen as the fire gets hot.

I took my 96 Sea-Doo XP down to nuts and bolts, replaced the bearings, the Pistons and rings. Put it back together, runs like a top. Took 2 months due to squirting all the parts. Was a great time, not certified, took auto shop in highschool, but we only took apart lawnmower engines.

Scrubs, if you’re interested in how nitrous works, Nitrous alone isn’t flammable, it’s Nitrous Oxide, two parts Nitrogen, one part Oxygen. You can inject it in the intake manifold(s) for a dry set up, or in the fuel lines for a wet system. The engine mixes air and fuel to run, so if you run nitrous, that nitrous oxide will be converted into extra oxygen to make more power, but you gotta dump more fuel to reduce the risk of blowing it up. If you run lean (not enough fuel being injected and too much air), that lean mixture runs hotter than normal. You can put like a 50-75 shot on a car without causing too much damage, you just gotta run the nitrous. The shot numbers represent how much HP they add. So basically Nitrous turns into oxygen, and the more oxygen and fuel you have in those combustion chambers equal more power.

Want to know something ironic? Most fires that the fire department deal with aren’t house or forest, but actually car fires. On top of that city firefighters do more medical work (ambulances and such) than actual work to put out fires. This is in my area, but I take it that it’s relatively similar for most other people since my town isn’t a fire hazard or a fire-worry some area.
