Sarah Alota I’m sorry, but are YOU a Korean immigrant? What you’re saying is not necessarily true. My family initially immigrated from Busan to a remote town in Kentucky and encountered so much racism in those two years that we eventually left. And there was NO ONE who would’ve escorted us to a pharmacy and bought us medicine. So don’t fucking generalize.

+Bunny1412 Makes me wonder if he a scammer because all he was concerned about first was the "street tax" until that lady came around. If he was so intent on him not doing business in Korea, why would he be so focused if he paid his dues, because that would just enable him to continue business in Korea. When i was in Korea it was common for many people like him will go to foreign vendors and act like collectors to take money. Also the Korean mafia is known to extort protection money from street vendors, since street vendors are usually illegal and the police wouldn't do much if the vendors' property were damaged.

+Tim Lim visible foreigners/minorities are low hanging fruit, more so if they can't speak the language. Old guy is probably an extortionist and trying to shakedown Ibrahim for quick money. Heard the surprise in his voice when the lady explained to him that the brothers already paid their street money to the owner of the building and that he should take it to the owner? After that, he went on and on about foreigners taking jobs from Koreans. That was his cop out.
@_lim15428 жыл бұрын
chiara light yup thats exactly what I thought. But i've researched a little deeper upon this "street tax" and the korean mafia(which is alive and well just like the yakuza in japan) is known to extort money from vendors that are on streets with this "street tax", unlike vendors that are in marketplaces, they are usually vending illegally if its on random streets that happen to be on mafia turf, the mafia makes them pay a tax for "protection", if not, they threaten to damage, even burn down in extreme cases, their shops.Because they are illegally vending, theres no legal insurance and police will not do anything about it or reimburse.

+Truth Seeker I'm afraid you are over-generalizing Koreans here. The Koreans who helped Yusuf were obviously invisible to you and the fact that Koreans have this kind of cultural program and are open about the social/cultural issue by making it visible to the world. Your condescending and belittling attitude about Koreans doesn't speak much better about you than the guy who discriminates against Yusuf brothers. People who discriminate others for whatever reason exist everywhere including in the USA (remember the hate crimes such as lynching and murders and the problems that are still very much palpable, including those related to immigrants?). Since you are "Truth Seeker," and whether you are an American or not, I would like to suggest you to study a little more about just how helpful the USA has been to Korea, economically and politically. I have tremendous respect for the USA and don't deny its help. At the same time, Korea has become "a very good country" economically, thanks also to the leaders, factory workers and other diligent citizens who worked incredibly hard; other countries also received help from the USA but have not had the results and have not been able to help other countries like Korea has. Politically speaking, Koreans achieved democracy after decades of fight against dictators despite USA supporting these same dictators for decades.

If u know the real reason why the Korean War happened dig deeper into Korean War history - the US has a lot to do with instigating the war! And after the Korean War ended, the US left South Korea in shambles and Germany helped S. Korea to get the economy back on track. America didn't help at all. So, no I don't believe North America has anything to do with booming economy of S. Korea.

They are ethnically Kurds (are originally geographically from Iran and around, not native to Anatolia, went under the Ottoman rule and moved to eastern Anatolia as a people) They claimed and still claim Anatolian land and they mostly feed and support Kurdish terrorists in the mountains, so that the terrorists can kill more Turkish soldiers. Turkish soldiers only try to protect their borders from Kurds. We, Turks, are used to the Kurdish mentality. They are like that in Turkey, as well. The worst part for me as a Turk is not Kurds abroad being hateful towards the Turkish nation (we are used to our soldiers dying from the terrors they create), it is actually them being super two faced and saying they are Turkish whenever they can use some help from the foreigners. Did you notice how he went around saying he was from Turkey and that Korea and Turkey are brother countries whenever he needed help, that's how Kurd acts. They got no class, no etiquette.

There is a terrorist group called PKK in turkey and they killed many innocent people in the east of turkey and did many bad things in turkey. They killed babies, teachers, doctors and students. They bombed seveal places in turkey including İstanbul and capital city Ankara. I'll give you an example. In 2016, they bombed a local bus in Ankara. In that bus there were many innocent people. Ozan Can Akkuş and Berkay Kuş (university students in ODTÜ which is one of the best universities in turkey), dorukhan Yusuf özdemir (a high school student) Destina peri parlak (she was a high school student) and 33 other innocent civils passed away. So, please correct the mistake because it would be disrespectful to 5.560 innocent civil who killed by PKK. It's heartbroken to hear lies from the brother counrty, South Korea

Such a sad episode. All love to both the brothers. And Korea being a developed country hope their thinking will educate too especially the older people.

As a guy in this show said, Turkey sent troops for Koreans during Korean war. Have some respect.

I really liked the Korean lady who helped Ibrahim out....that guy was just a dick. People around the world move to other countries for various reasons, and making money for a better life is usually the case. That guy is probably just depressed about his own situation and took it out on someone else...tsk

The old man should have respect. He needs to know how much the turkish army helped the korean army when there was war!

For all the Turks mad at them. ..he never bad mouthed turkey or even picked a side. He just said he grew up with a lot of turbulence which is very possible considering all of you admit there is violence between the pkk and Turkish army. Not everything is political...it's about empathy to another human beings struggles.

That guy who help him bought medicine was way too kind and hospitable. 😊 But that old man who criticized him for doing business closed his mind that there were Koreans who go abroad to earn money for living. It makes me sad, that in his age his so irrational.

I feel more sad when i saw a guy crying. Maybe because it's very rare to see a guy cry. When they cry it means that there's really something bad inside them. I just wanna hug him 😭💔

Probably a dumb question but do the guests get paid for appearing on the show?

The talkative brother look exactly like a friend of mine who were also trying to make a living in a foreign country. Its a huge challenge but they have tick skin and work hard.
