That thing that Scrubby said about the war on ostriches was actually very interesting. During the Great Depression the global economy tanked including Australia’s. Well, an invasive species of bird called the Emu (which is basically a discount ostrich) began to eat farmers’ crops. This on top of the Great Depression was unaffordable for the Australian government so they officially declared a war on the Emu’s. The crazy part about it, the Australian government spent so much on killing so little Emus, the government essentially lost.
