Heer's Department Store was an independent department store in Springfield, MI. It went under in 1995 after 80 years of operation.

The tag on the box is from Hess's. It was a department store chain from Pennsylvania. In the 80's and 90's they had around 80 stores mostly in the north east. I have many great memories shopping at Hess's 😎

Ah.. Cool. Didn't those. Thanks.

I grew-up near Scranton and the mall for that city, Viewmont, had Hess's as one of three anchors. The chain expanded a lot, including corporate acquisitions, in the late 80s but a recession in the early 90s lead to stores being sold to various competitors and complete closure of the company by the mid-90s. The one in Viewmont became a Kauffman's (later bought by Macy's.)

Those inductances with the caps at the motor look like low-pass filters, to remove all the noise from the motor. Possibly without those the relay got activated randomly and they had to add it after designing the main circuit.

@@RandiRain I definitely enjoy them and yea teaching me something wouldn't be too hard since my knowledge is changing batteries or seeing a broken wire, saying shit! and tossing it out lol
@Dzonemp3 жыл бұрын
If it does the not running thing again, try removing the old solder from the motor terminals. clean up the wires and make a good mechanical connection with the motor terminals and then give them a new coating of 60/40 solder.

So, if I understand it right, it uses two batteries for forwards and the other two for backwards? That's a nice way of unevenly discharging batteries! I wonder if it came with the typical "don't mix new and old batteries together" warning anyways... 😂
@RandiRain3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is what it does. Back then batteries didn't last no time and we went through them like candy.
