I bought a 99 EB with 190k. I did the plugs and coils also a thermostat and i did tranny fluid. Ive driven that thing all over the state of Colorado and New Mexico with no problems and a lot of that was mountain driving. Plenty of room for the kids and she'll keep up with traffic. Ford hit a home run with these. You can pick these full size 4x4 suv's for cheap.

I'm waiting for my current van to die so I can get a first-generation Navigator. I'm hoping for a 2000-2002 as those engine years made a little more power. I'm excited. I'm even more excited with the availability of oem parts. I'm all about oem parts 😅

You said the 4.6L V8 Triton is one of the best Ford motors. What about the 5.4L V8 Triton? I'm looking into getting a cheap second vehicle. Found a 2000 Ford Expedition at a good price with a 5.4.
@realdailydriven Жыл бұрын
I have heard good things as long as its not the 3 valve model, which if its the 2000 it would be 2 valve and should be just as reliable as the 4.6!

Personal exexperience says 98 expedition 5.4 4x4 is the BEST TRUCK !!?? 10 YEARS AND NO PROBLEMS... except for gas 😁😁 ...

Just make sure to put a new head gasket. They were prone to mess up due to having different materials between the air intake manifold and the head. That's how I fucked up my expedition😢 best vehicle I've had

I have a 97 Expedition EB edition. Has the 5.4 Triton V8. Put a K&N cold air intake on it. Hauls ass. Great acceleration. Starting to nickel and dime me now. Getting miss fire on # 3, # 6, What ever. Took it in, they replaced the plugs and 1 coil pack. 2 weeks later, same thing. I guess I will have to replace all coil packs. I really do like this vehicle. I hope the repairs settle down for a while.

i don't get how this is broken? Seems fine, drives like ours, except we have the XLT instead of the eddie bauer edition. One thing to note is that on these models in the winter, the front blenddoor actuator tents to go out easily, and those are hard to change, we did it ourselfs recently, me and my dad. so theres a tip for you.

It's because he's a kid and the generation now has no clue what a "truck" is, he even called the 4.6 a little engine lol, they spent half the video saying stupid sex jokes and giggling like school girls, I don't take any review the kids do on vehicles serious now because most of them can't even drive a stick and they would probably cry if they had to drive my 33 year old C1500 Chevy truck with a terrible spray paint job.

@@austinreeves9112 Dang that was an entire roast to like everybody! But its true, this gen is kinda bad, i just hope my dad teaches me well, which i have faith in.

@@austinreeves9112 I'm sorry bro, didn't mean to offend you by calling it little, 4.6 is more than enough if that's all your working with 😝 Also, I daily a 33 year old stick shift ranger, cried so much I bought another one 😉

i think i found your problem... Its not the 5.4... that year of 5.4 is the best V8 of all time that isn't a diesel or carbed engine

Is the 5.4 just as reliable aswell?
@austinreeves9112 Жыл бұрын
It can be, the older 5.4 is a lot more reliable than the newer ones, the thing with the 5.4 is the spark plugs, you want to change them as soon as you get the truck. Other than that, I see them go over 400,000 miles. The reason you want to change the spark plugs is because they can break in the engine and they have also shot out of the engine block but that was newer 5.4s not 10th gen f150/ expeditions.
