Ohhhhh I love the idea of the underpainting so if the strokes don't overlap you won't see the white paper. Thats genius.

The Meriaki Meadow is becoming one of my favourite worlds to loose myself in when I am having a bad day. It makes me feel so cosy and comforted, like a warm hug from a grandmother or something 😅

Oh my goodness, that warms my heart!! So, so glad you’ve found a home in the meadow 💛💛💛

Do you fear losing your lines? I love love love how the ice cream glass case turned out. The look of glass is something I struggle with. Love your videos
@allisonaletha2 ай бұрын
Not really! Oftentimes the lines get lost pretty quickly, so I kinda make things up as I go. 😅 Thank you so much!! I definitely struggle with glass too. Reflective surfaces are so tricky!

Soaking your paper also removes all of the sizing. Sizing can be beneficial or annoying. It creates a soft barrier between the paper and the paint. Sizing can keep your paint from "sinking" into the paper. Sizing is great for watercolor dry brush techniques. I do like it for gouache the way I work, but I can see how removing it works with your softer style.

Ohhh interesting!! I’m still learning about sizing (it’s a bit confusing for me 😅).

Your lettering is incredible . Which brush did you use?
@allisonaletha2 ай бұрын
Thank you!! I used a spotter brush for the lettering. 🥰

I have said it before your artwork, and the characters would please Beatrix Potter.

Do you find this paint better than gauche? It is more opaque? How does it flow vs gauche? How is the drying time compared to acrylic or gauche? I would love to try this for my children's illustrations. Always looking for colors that are opaque and yet soft. Do you understand what I mean?
@allisonaletha2 ай бұрын
Honestly it’s about the same as gouache! Drying time, flow, opacity, it’s all very comparable. I use them interchangeably 😊

Hi there I'm an artist too. And I've mostly do watercolor paintings but recently decided to try out guache painting to switch ot up a bit. I'm trying to illustrate a picture I drew of a bear sitting on a stole in an old fashioned candy shop. I have my sketch all drawn out. And I was wondering if you have any suggestions on how I could fill the candy jars in the background. I have a gumball machine and it's looking good but I don't have a clue on how to paint such fine details for background subjects. So if you could send me some suggestions on how to paint them that would be great. Thanks again
