Very technical set, the treble is lively but not harsh. Pairs well with warm sources.

Indeed a very technical set, but still the timbre is also quite good. I won't call it dry.

Enjoyable and informative review, subscribed. For me they’re not the best under $500. I got them (I couldn’t justify the Divas!). Good for classical. Occasional sharpness bordering on sibilance. Good detail but not in the fun organic enjoyable camp for me. The Sennheiser ie600 available under £500 is a better balanced and for me more comfortable IEM. I’m looking forward to the Da Vinci.

It is okay my friend, we both may have different opinions since it is a subjective hobby. What are your favourite sets under the $500 bracket?
@AndrewYouTubehandle3 ай бұрын
@@gadgetgenerationspulkit it’s definitely subjective- not just that people’s hearing differs, but also musical preferences, tastes, listening conditions, recordings etc. At the moment for general music and relaxed listening, I’m enjoying the Simgot EA500LM (around $100) a lot more than I expected. I found the Pilgrims a bit off with some vocals and at times heading to sibilance (using lossless uncompressed with AK dac and another with ESS dac. Also pairing with a chord mojo 2. With more complex classical and instrumentals the Pilgrims provided a deeper listening experience. Depth and detail but not a huge sound stage. I have the Sennheiser ie600 which you can get for under £500. They are better balanced, and respond better to the likes of the chord mojo 2 and I find a lot more comfortable to wear (the Pilgrims are big in comparison and the metal is colder to the touch in colder weather here in the UK than any other IEM I’ve had). I suspect that comply tips could do better with the Pilgrims than Spinfit tips (which I use on most of my IEMs)- certainly will be interesting to try). So for day to day use the EA500LM are very very enjoyable and the Sennheiser ie600 for depth and width (with chord mojo 2). However, with certain genres and recordings (eg Bach, Kodo drummers… ) I’m enjoying the Pilgrims a lot.

@@gadgetgenerationspulkit for all rounder warmth I’m enjoying the simgot ea500lm. I found the Pilgrim a bit sharp, for example Lana Del Rey sounds almost brittle. For under £500, value wise the Simgot EA500lm ($100) has been a surprise. The Sennheiser ie600 (under £500 nowadays) has more width than the Pilgrim and better balance across the range for my listening- uncompressed lossless, multiple sources including chord mojo 2 dac, AK and ESS. The ie600 I also find more comfortable than the Pilgrim- lighter, better fit for me… I like the Pilgrims for complex classical (eg Bach) and complex instrumental arrangements. But not so much for a deeply engaging emotional connection. The cable is good. I don’t have any other pentaconn cables so can’t swap those round to experiment. But they feel more secure than MMCX and 2 pin. I’ll try them with tips like Comply or Sony hybrid which might smooth out some of the occasional sharpness. It will be interesting to try the Da Vinci (and I’d like to try the Ziigat Doscinco).

How do you compare it with the upcoming DaVinci based on the impressions?
@gadgetgenerationspulkit4 ай бұрын
I listened to the DaVinci at the CanJam, DaVinci has more mid bass punch, a little more warmth to the vocals, and a more musical tone (based on my memories).

How does the softears studio 4 compare to iems near its price range like aful performer 8 ? Looking for something with great midrange, vocals textures and micro details throughout ? I listen to a lot of acoustics, is it near the quality of dunu sa6 ? Many thanks in advance...
@gadgetgenerationspulkit4 ай бұрын
Studio4 sounds quite natural, although I would personally pick Aful P8 over Studio4 anyday. Pilgrim has a faster signature with a bit of lean-ness present.

@@gadgetgenerationspulkit thanks again, pilgrim is not available in the country yet, does p8 show micro details, vocal and string instrument textures more than softears studio4 ? I am a headphone user not much exp with iems...In iems i have the shuoer s12 pro, it has lots of details and I want to improve on that without the glare in treble...
@gadgetgenerationspulkit4 ай бұрын
@@vicky-vic the S12 is a surprisingly good set of iem for its price point haha. Getting more details without being harsh, P8 is a good option. Besides Pilgrim is also arriving soon in India 😁

How does the Pilgrim compare to the Night Oblivion Butastur ? is it worth to get the Oblivion over the pilgrim for $200 extra ?
@gadgetgenerationspulkit4 ай бұрын
Sorry for the late reply mate, my laptop went kaput. Well, for me I would pick Pilgrim as Butastur has richer notes and more mid-bass, but Pilgrim is faster and technically a better one.

Vs Dusk, Hype 4, Mega 5-EST, Davinci?
@apothecy40114 ай бұрын
Dusk is better. Pilgrim comes very close to the Dusk and it is significantly more technical. But Dusk wins everything else. Hype 4 and MegaEST are a step down. MonarchMK2 and 3 compete with the Dusk. Dusk beats both the Hype 4 and 10. (But Hype has stronger bass). Davinci has less bass than Hype4 (and the Dusk) but it is the best IEM under $300. If you absolutely want strong bass the Hype4 is better than the Davinci. If you don't, Davinci wins (I like bass and I still prefer the DaVinci over thr Hype4)
@gadgetgenerationspulkit4 ай бұрын
Haven't got a chance to listen to the 5-EST, Davinci i will update once i receive it. Dusk is close to Pilgrim like my friend said, it's just the Pilgrim has a bit more details. Hype4 has more bass, but I wouldn't put them against Dusk or Pilgrim.
