Danny is an office worker that feels unfulfilled in both life and friendship. He’s a pushover and his kindness is his weakness. His job is tiring and his friends don’t seem to like him. So he is excited when he gets the chance to attend an interview for the position of Personal assistant to Xavier Thomas. He got it through a referral from his last workplace and he hopes he’ll get the job. His day is off to a rocky start when a car almost crashes into him on his way to the location. His clothes are soiled and shoes torn. The driver comes out to apologies and even offers him money (courtesy of the boss in the backseat.) Daniel refuses the money and demands an apology from the boss himself. He doesn’t get it. Angry and frustrated, he realises he’s late for his interview. He can’t go back for a change of clothes so he arrives for the interview, looking a mess. Other applicants are dressed properly so the Ceo doesn’t even give him a second glance. Without even looking at his face, Xavier asks him to get out.
Before reaching the last floor, for some reason, Xavier sends someone to get him back. He’s hired and all the other applicants are sent out. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, Danny resumes work eagerly. Working for Xavier is a difficult task but Danny is happy to have a job. Eventually, Xavier asks if Danny doesn’t recognise him. They used to be classmates in high school. Danny finally recognises Xavier as pudgy, his best friend and crush from high school. But Xavier is totally different now, no more pimples, extra weight or glasses. Danny is also different, both of them have grown out of their teenage woes. Still, Xavier turns cold again, telling Danny that their connection doesn’t mean he can slack off at work. Excited, Danny disregards this and offers to buy Xavier a drink. Xavier agrees and Danny drinks a lot. He opens up about his personal life and friend problems to Xavier. Xavier consoles Danny and advises him to talk to his friends about feeling left out.
Despite their night out, things continue as usual at work. Until one day when Xavier decides to buy out Cavill, a small company run by Karl Woodson, their high school classmate and bully. Danny thinks Xavier has forgotten all about his horrible deeds in high school and wants to help Karl.
But Xavier wants revenge. Danny is disappointed and scolds Xavier. Xavier argues and berates Danny, pointing out that this is the reason why his friends don’t like him and he can’t grow his career. He’s a soft pushover.
Danny is hurt but he knows what Xavier said is the truth. He’s truly unsatisfied with his life and he wants to change. He retorts angrily that if his life annoys Xavier so much, he should help fix it. Xavier strangely agrees and drafts a two month plan to improve Danny’s life.
Adulting is hard as a gay man. But they both decide to find fulfilment. Too bad, Danny doesn’t have plans to love and Xavier is engaged to be married. That becomes a problem when they can’t stop their attraction. Danny falls in love and comes to terms with it despite the stakes. He discovers that Xavier was the one that almost crashed into him on the way to work and the only reason he got the job was because Xavier saw his name on the job
application. All along, he wanted to be involved in Danny’s life since he became his personal assistant.
Meanwhile, Xavier fights against his father’s wishes and accepts his sexuality. They both find love, fulfilment and new friends. Love and acceptance is better done in a pair of two.
