Congrats! I just picked up my Spyder RS 4 days ago. I also spec'd mine exactly like my GT4 RS! You can see them, and my other cars (including my 992 GT3 RS, 992 GT3, 992 GT3 Cup, and Taycan, and others), on my channel. BTW, they do a smaller splitter in the front to balance out the lack of a wing in the back. I hope your balance isn't out of whack, but I'm sure you and the people you worked with already thought of that.

The legal speed limit in the UK is 70mph. I am pretty confident that it won't be a problem. Rear spoilers are generally effective at creating downforce above 80mph.

Congratulations Mark. The Boxster Spyder in any form is just an all time stunning looking car, and your RS is just perfect. I could just look at that duck tail spoiler all day long! Did you consider any PTS colours at any stage?

Thank you. I do love the 987 Spyder and 981 Spyder but having the GT3 engine makes such a difference. I wasn't offered PTS, but I am very happy with GT Silver. I think it goes really well with the black roof and blue wheels. That said I have seen a Gulf Orange Spyder RS with blue wheels which looks amazing.

Congratulations. Beautiful. You can't turn away an allocation for a Porsche RS product. Already know it's going to be good. Our friend Joe Achilles in his last video described this car as better and more usable than a GT4RS and I think hes right. I adored the spec on your GT4RS so I'm pleased to see it here and you have 🎉WON 🏆 🎉with the front. That was my thing I love this car but the front looked soft. And at that money £165k this is the best value for money you can get. Porsche could charge more and they would fly off the shelf. Can't beat this level of car. Lets get the car run in so we can see it being driven the way it wants to be driven.

I really like the 987 and 981 Spyder, however, both are manual and neither have a GT3 engine or Gt front suspension. This is in a different league!

@@888mf4 thanks for your reply - but does it have the charm of the 987 Spyder. Keep that in mind as I'd be keen to hear your thoughts in time - in fact I'd recommend the car you put it up against is indeed the 987 one :)

@@julian987r4 I really enjoyed driving the 987 Spyder in Vancouver, but I feel like the 3.8L engine in the 981 Spyder makes it more exciting. That said, both the 987 and 981 Spyder models are manual. If you want a car you can use more often the 718 Spyder can be ordered with PDK and the Spyder RS only comes with a PDK. Having the GT3 engine in such a small package is rather mind boggling too. Drive one and take it up to 9000rpm and you will be blown away.

Thank you. I owned a TDF blue CS from 2012 - 2016. They are very loud, but the gearbox is old technology.

Amazing car, amazing spec....only the Weissach package is downside for me; the carbon parts makes the Spyder RS so wannabe racer and a bit tacky for me, something I don't have with a WP GT3 RS (personal opinion of course) ;)

The painted front bonnet on the Spyder RS Weissach was tempting, but I like the way the satin paint contrasts with the gloss carbon

Thank you. The Alfa 4C is much more basic as you sit on the floor surrounded by carbon fibre tub. So the Alfa is raw and very exciting, but you just can't compare the engines. The Alfa has a 4 cylinder 1.75 Litre turbocharged engine. Which is fine for a little sports car, but the Porsche has a 4.0L flat six engine that hits 9000rpm and is incredible !!!

Just talked the other week to a danish SRS owner at Gotlandring, who decided to sell his car after just 2 weeks of owning it, as he found the use case for it really only to be blasting through the alps, and he couldn’t swing that more than 1-2 times a year. He was hoping for a 991.2 GT3RS just without the roof and was disappointed. It wasn’t a car for the track and not for the occasional autobahn run either (who wants to blast continuously above 200kph with the roof down?). He decided to sell the SRS and keep the .2 GT3RS. I couldn’t help thinking he’d just be better off in a 4RS for all purposes. It’s truly a gem. Also the Dane said the SRS wasn’t as loud inside as the GT4RS, which makes sense, as the roof keeps the sound leaving the car.

The one to get is actuallu the 718 Spyder in a manual... thats the keeper. Not sure why you'd want or need a spyder SRS and a 4RS? The best road review compare would be with a 718 Spyder with a 6MT and perhaos aftermarket.exhaust (Kline)...

I have owned a 718 Spyder manual in white and didn't like it much. Sharp handling but the manual doesn't suit the engine at all. PDK is much better with the 718 Spyder and Spyder RS. I have done a video between the 718 GT4 manual v PDK. As for the Spyder RS, it has the GT3 engine, so it is a very special car.

The front spoiler is shorter as there is no huge rear spoiler on the back, so it needs less downforce. However, downforce is pretty much irrelevant below 70mph on the road (legal speed limit in the UK). Wouldn't you agree?

Gonna be honest the wiessach pack is over rated, a waste of money, ugly and useless on a spyder rs. The standard wheels are way better looking than the magnesium wheels. But I definitely agree that gt silver is the best non pts Porsche color right now.

Paint colour and wheels are personal choice. There is no right and wrong in my opinion. You pay your money and your choose what you like.

Nice move with the front splitter, have the same on my 981. There will of course be some detriment aero-balance wise, I'd wager no-one would actually 'feel' the shift in balance, you'd have to be doing something illegal on public roads or tracking it (which is what the GT4RS is for, not this, this is the classier road car.)

I always knew you would end up with one as you loved your 981 , I've alway found driving in a sports car so much more fun with the roof down especially on road trips and with 500bhp gt3 mid engine it's got to be epic ... will be nice to see a European road trip video.... well done keep living the dream 😂

Thank you. I did love the 981 Spyder but the manual gearbox made it less enjoyable around London. I took the Spyder RS to France already and it was fantastic. The only niggle is the roof, which takes two people to put down or up.
