The earth machine is cool as one can add worms when the heat is less intense. It may be smaller but it meets your needs. Being black helps with getting it hot and because it’s closed, moisture will be less of an issue

Awesome video man. I love composting and try to learn all I can. We visit SoCal every summer to visit family. I often go to Chula Vista to visit " Exotica Rare Fruit Tree Nursery" they're awesome. Beautiful city you live in. Thanks for all the cool tips and knowledge Peace N Love

I’ve had one for 20+ years, I get it up to 130-140 regularly with a large dose of balanced material (but chicken manure is like cheating!). If you find the compost drying out, try lining the inside with cardboard. Agree that nothing really breaks in.

Thanks for sharing your success! The cardboard idea is a good trick.

@@1OKToni ah thanks. I uploaded last night and sometimes new videos come in blurry or with no sound until KZbin fully processes the video on their end. Thanks for the feedback!

i trash can (mix of 20 & 32 gal) compost and i regularly get my temps up to 140 and they stay there for 7-10 days until things go ambient and that usually happens by the end of month 3 and my material is beautiful. i can't have open bins due to hoa and not that i'm a radical environmentalist, i am aware of carbon emissions and all of that carbon escaping into the atmosphere through evaporation of compost concerns me. anyway, this year i'm going to try something a little different since leaf season is upon us, u.s. heartland zone 6a here, i've gotten 4 130gal reusable leaf bags that i'm going to try for composting. if it appears to work i definitely will be trying more. right now i have 9 trash cans lined up at the back of my house and condensing that down - or - creating more composting space would be awesome. btw, i am not patient enough to mould leaves so i use them for a brown ingredient in my compost. with a c:n ratio of 60:1 and cardboard of 350:1 i think it's obvious which one is going to be a faster composter & more nutritious.

Nothing wrong with carbon. Everything alive uses carbon. It would escape when you open a lid anyway. The way you do it is still better than sending everything to a landfill and wasting it

Largely, these things are a waste of money.

pallets are best but most people don't understand composting so they want to see something pretty - I'm talking about inspector guvmint types.
@tompaul25916 ай бұрын
@@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885 yeah my other piles are pallets. When they rot they become compost. I would not have bought it except like I said it was free. I agree about govt types that need everything pretty and urban/suburban neighbors not understanding what compost is.
