Been rocking these boots for 5 years or so (on my 2nd pair). Love them. Best all-round boot I've ever used.

great info here. I look forward to hearing the updates. Interesting about the over the calf socks too.....because I wear them as well. My Lowa Tibbets are having water intrusion, and now I will have to experiment and see where that water is getting in. I have bad ankles, and prefer the mountain boots for support. This may be something I lean towards in 2025. I appreciate that you don't come out and say ...."these are the best". Instead....your message is this is what's working for me, and here is why YOU like them and what factors led you to that.

These are B2 boots so will only take C1 or C2 crampons hence no toe welt. B3 boots are fully stiffened with heel and toe welts, designed for toe bails and heel clips.

Long comment. Be warned. I'm a professional hunter, i started off with Meindal and then some harkila boots. I've went through 7 pairs of meindals through my 7 years hunting all year. I've moved to locak brands (Brandecosso) and had amazing results. Got a perfect winter boot and summer boot for stalking. I got the crispi wild EVO GTX and i love them, they are my autumn and woodland boot. I've found it to be nice and branch out, my advice would be shop around, don't stay loyal. You never know what you might be missing out on. I've lost pairs Fighting wildfires and some just don't last when you wear them 5 days a week all winter culling. 2-3 pairs you can rotate and getting the right pair of the season is key..

I love the crispi brikstal MTN but I ended up wearing them daily for work and noticed the sole in the heel wore out after a year

@@MindfulHunter especially for $400 but I have super flat feet so that probably doesn’t help the sole of the boots

I tried these boots a couple of years ago. Loved everything about them, except the heel cup was too deep. I have bumps on my Achilles tendons from previous partial tears and these boots put a lot of pressure on that scar tissue causing a lot of pain. Just FYI in case anyone else is in same boat. Otherwise, I did love the boot construction and fit.

I bet you will see a difference when changing the sock. I hate my socks falling too. Farm 2 Feet lightweight has been the right tightness for me to not fall down to my ankle and into the boot.

😂 Good one. Thats the exact boot I have/use (I live and hunt in alpine Switzerland). In fact I only wear scarpa. I can highly recommend their Mojito too as an everyday shoe. I'm on at least my 4th or so, I've worn them many years. I'll keep buying them as long as they exist. Ps: there's a reason people wear gaitors. They look goofy as hell but they do work. I also since switched to rubberized Helly Hansen rain gear. Only thing that will truly keep you dry and it's hell of a lot cheaper than this bs gore tex.

A synthetic option to try would be the ribelle lite hd basically same boot but lighter and synthetic

If you like these, you might like La Sportiva Aequilibrium better. The are about as stiff, but walk far better and have better grip. Not quite as durable as Ribelles. Sportivas are bit narrower and lower volume though, so as always, fit rules all.
@MindfulHunter3 ай бұрын
Yeah can’t do those. Was so excited for them and fit me horribly. Which is odd because I love the fit of my Nepal GTX’s. Must be a different last.

What foot type would you say this ARG last is optimized for? I have a narrow / low volume foot (B/C) and often struggle to get a good fit on boots.
@MindfulHunter26 күн бұрын
The European boots tend to have more of a curve to them. I have a narrow heel but wide forefoot and they fit good.

I really like these boots but have worn out the inside liner in the heel in 4 sets. This exposes the plastic heel cup which cuts you to absolute shit. I solved this by sewing in a leather patch from a glove at the first signs of wear and it brings them back to some of the best boots for hunting in the Southern Alps of NZ. In the similar space Ive tried the Mammut Tais Lights and they dont last near as well and lose waterproofness very quick. I've got a set of the La Sportiva Aequilibriums and they are so far showing to be the equal of the Scarpas but ill need to wear a few more out before i stop stockpiling the ribelles. I do feel the leather just lasts longer than the synthetics

Scarpa actually has a wide footbed, I buy wide width in almost all boots, and I have no problems. If your full on sasquatch id try them first but in general they are plenty wide for me.
@mysterioanonymous32063 ай бұрын
Same for me. That's why I wear scarpa (this exact one in fact). They're pretty wide. Give it a try in a shop.
