I did mine with a full custom paint job. Pearl White, Gun Metal Grey Metallic Black, Silver Leaf, and Gold. And let me tell you, it looks great. Not only sporting a flashy new yet not to different paint scheme. By painting this kit, especially the inner frame. It tightens the joints, making them much more durable and less prone to becoming loose over time.

@vancyhobbies yeah. I gave my Red Zaber Tiger a show accurate paint job to match Ravens version. Kotobukiya could have done a better job with its base paint scheme. It was all wrong. A reddish orange body, gold fangs and claws. NO. I did mine right. Silver Leaf for the servo cylinders, fangs and claws. Gunmetal gray for the inner frame and armor, Metallic Black for the shoulder armor sections, and Dull Red for the outer armor. 100 times better.

I was of the same inspiration to want this ZOID when I heard of its release into the HEMM. I knew I had to have it and add it to my line up of other HEMM ZOIDS. I had this guy back when it was the motorized model, and it's easily one of my favorite ZOIDS ever. I currently own the HEMM; Lightning Saix, Raven Raptor, Geno Saurer, Dark Horn, Shadow Fox, Red Zaber Tiger, and now the legendary Konig Wolf. I hope to soon have the Dual Sniper Cannon and missile pod armaments in the mail.

I bought the Hasbro Version of this when it came out 20 years ago I was a little kid on vacation in Dominican Republic, I bought it and brought it back to America if I have one regret as I didn't bother another 1. They had a dark corner on sale two just wish I got it.

Thanks, I also had liger zero and Berserk Fury in my collection, I also had two zoids from one of my cousins, the first is the zord that flies the Pteras The other was the bad ass scorpion at the last half of chaotic century The death stinger.

No, unfortunately, that was over 20 years ago. Toys like that don't last much longer. Especially in the hands of little kids. That can be reckless with them though I love them very much.

Absolutely loved this kit. Just managed to snag a preorder for the blue version. I know its pricey but it is a solid build. No glue needed. 100% recommend for new comers or wolf lovers. It feels like an action figure, and I felt the sheer size of it makes up for the high price. I'm abit biased because I do love wolves and I have previously built command wolf and liger zero and much preferred the ease of building konig wolf. I didn't care for the sniper accessories either. To conclude, I really don't see myself buying anymore kotobukiya kits since I've noticed for upcoming preorders of hexagear and zoids that kotobukiya have raised the prices quite abit. I try to stick with only buying 100$ max kits. The wolves were my exception.

Yes it is an excellent kit. Its unfortunate how kotobukiya has priced out potential new hobbyist from their kits. They are just so pricey now, I remember when ligers were 60$ cad

'still got that visor unit, for whatever reason' the visor serves as Night Vision as well as the enhanced vision systems for aiding in aiming weapons like it's iconic DSR. so it still has some purpose even without that weapon. This is something the Battle Story included for the old kit made mention of as well that it was odd this zoid was developed in such a way. It is odd Koto didn't add any extra hidden weapon systems like they sometimes do for this kit. A hidden Shock Cannon like on the Lightning Saix would have been nice touch to go with a Zoid that is clearly meant for long range combat since it has the scope and smoke and chaff dischargers. Also to add to your noticing it's the same size as the Liger Zero, this came out in the Tomy line in the same 'wave' as the Liger Zero and Berserk Fuhrer and like them was designed as a CAS gimmick Zoid which is part of why it's so lackluster in base form. sadly it never got any actual CAS addon kits released for it, the only one designed was seen once as a prototype and never further developed. So got to make due with the DSR and Missile Units. Maybe we will get lucky and Koto will make something new for it down the line.

I was curious google said Konig means "king" in German. So Mr. King Wolf is suppose to be rival to the liger-0.

Interesting. I did dismiss this kit before because it was expensive and because I thought it was small like the Command Wolf, but you managed to change my mind. While it is still expensive, I actually have a interest in it now. That big hole on the back is begging for a energy cannon... and it seems like the weapon set is just like that huh. While I'm tempted to get this kit, my buylist is really long right now so I will leave this one in the back burner for now. Nice review, I hope the weapon set and the heavy weapon Konig deliver as much as this one.

Thanks for watching! Its unfortunate with HMM prices, they are definitely a turn off for new hobbyists. With this price its hard to justify the konig wolf as a stand alone kit, wished they packaged the large sniper rifle at least with it.

I think you could splay out the legs of the 2 zoids wild released by kotobukiya. I know people got turned off with the design choices done by the zoids team with wild(way smaller zoids and the saddle "piloting") but the hmm was leagues ahead of the older zoids releases. Wild liger (and fang tiger since they got the same inner frame) have way simpler and stronger design, much like how I see konig wolf is. I like the direction of zoids engineering being optimized by koto recently

The hmm wilds aren't able to splay their legs our like the konig but you are right about the hmm wilds being a improvement in engineering compared to the old zoids. Good to know kotobukiya continues to improve the engineering.

@@vancyhobbies yeah I just tested my fang tiger, it has the same mechanism for spreading out the shoulders/hips but they are of limited range due to the bulkiness of the armor. But yeah, I guess they improved it in the konig as their latest build from scratch.

Wow! Gotta say I was super hyped for this kit, but I didn’t realize it didn’t come with that giant rifle I’ve been seeing it posed with. For the price and lack of big gun the appeal has been lost for me. Beautiful kit though!

Correction on the Zoid Core unit! It DOES attach, it slots into the bottom of the neck and stays firmly in place. Sauce: Currently building the kit 😅
