With the amount of "spare "vintage tractors in the yard the could put a silage pusher on the back of one of them it would be there even if the loaders are busy at other work.

Definitely go with the wheels for pushing. Yes single wheel will do the small feed bit.

Keep the pins greased weekly with black pin & bushing grease and also keep the steering joints greased regularly also. We didn’t keep one of ours greased enough & it now has to get a full rebush and new steering arms. Costing a fortune. We have a 531-70 & a 536-60 and both great machines but that extra 1m is precious.

Try extend out the boom to push in the silage in the shead Phil, it will give you more scope to swing

Best of luck with the new loader looks the business. As for options for pushing up, you could get a pushing wheel with a hydraulic swing over and stick it on the MF135 (it would give you a reason to get it back running again). And use this to just push in the silage. I assume you will also have to do this in the new farm too so if that tractor can go between the farms that could be fine. Alternatively you could get one that could be pick up by the small tele so that could be used to push in to the timber shed and along the feed passages. That’s assuming you keep the small tele in the yard.

Tidy machine Philip. Best of luck with her. We've a 7m Manitou. Similar size machine to your new JCB. We use a wedge, but its angle is not steep or aggressive enough. If you buy a wedge make sure it has a very steep ange or it will just push material in front of you. Try your boom out about 2m with the forks on. It sweeps silage in like a big brush.

Philip the left hand mirror is very prone to damage as it stands out from the cab the solution to that is replace it with a smaller one the same as what comes on a Massey inside the back window fits perfectly and with its curve you should see enough

A sled is best ! I have had both and the sled is definitely the best , we have a Tanko beat chopper on the front of the jcb and just chop into the diet feeder and watch the clock for the correct weight ! I think you are just wearing the belly out in your feeder chopping beat in it .

@@FARMERPHIL3690 Only a miner thing🤣 There a good machine in fairness I’m a heavy equipment mechanic in Wexford I do a good bit of work on them from time to time keep her greased especially the kingpins and watch out for wet straw or whatever lodging under the arm to prevent damp getting into the plugs on the wiring loom other than that keep her serviced and you’ll have her years to come! A good tip which I forgot about: When you're going round tight corners, as long as you have enough height clearance, if you lift your boom up and crowd your bucket down as far as it will go, it'll make your machine a fair bit shorter and more manouverable and will also give you loads more visibility so you can see where the wheels are on your right hand side
@retrorevolution6534
@retrorevolution6534 2 күн бұрын
I knew you would love that machine Phil, you's should buy some Q fit brackets and you could weld them on to whatever implement you want, the place I used to work at used to get them and weld them on to all sorts, possibibilities are endless. A smaller bucket with straight sides would be a good start, that one's not ideal for them tight spots, it's surprising how much difference a bucket can make to one of those machines, it took me a while to figure it out tbh. There was one bucket in particular that was modified, smallish bucket with straight sides (triangular) but brackets moved down, a bit like your bucket, with a nice new blade welded on that two or three of us used to almost fight over because it was just so much better and just made the job so much easier
