Especially since it's black mold, which can be lethal to humans..I already let LPSHoney know, but I'm still worried about the fact she might've handled the monkey with no gloves before washing it.. ;--;

Japan is very humid, so mold is common especially with secondhand/vintage products.

I don't know for certain if it is mold, (a good way to find out though is if it smells like mildew or something went bad) but considering how well the packaging looks (no signs of water damage, discoloration from water bleeding into printing ink, ect.) it could be that the package was opened beforehand and tampered with. But what I'm most worried about is the mold that seemed to be on the toy, since it's black mold which is highly dangerous to people. I really hope you used gloves or something when cleaning it, because mold is definitely something you don't want your body to injest/absorb.. 😭
