I own a powdercoating company. Try benco b17 to remove powder and paint. It'll do it in about 15 minutes with 0 scrubbing. It's what we use to strip customer parts that have been previously coated

Not sure what program(s) you are using to do your design work, but I would look into figuring out what the total volume is of the void area for a single panel. Do the same for a panel with the port included. Then, you can just multiply the volume of one panel by the number of panels you plan to use. That will give you a pretty accurate volume. Then, if you are short on volume, you can just divide the amount of additional volume you need by the volume of the single panel and get how many more panels you need to cut.

Best method would be to model the box in a solid 3d model and then you can find out the internal volume and port. If you need it done I can sort it out. Should only take a few minutes with the 2D sketch used to make the CNC cutouts.

Do those specs really matter are they going to change because you're using a different cone to recone it and if so what's would be the recommended air space for a subwoofer that would come with the cone in it that you're using to recone the JL and as long as you fall somewhere in between and it will probably be good right
@VdubSPAZ6 жыл бұрын
So Doug you do realize that with you changing the cone and whatever it changes the free air response as well as the Q factor so on and so forth.... So you using JL Audio speakers specs will do you no good.... They do make software that will listen to your subwoofer in free air environment and will give you the information based on its notes or Tunes

“String Theory” won’t work lol. Your box volume is going to end up much smaller than calculated using this method which will put you at a HIGH tune given your fixed port dimensions. Tansfer your CNC drawings to a 3D modeling software and check the volume in that. There are a few ways to do this. Love your show!

if you provide the CAD file using solidworks I can accurately calculate the volumes so you can do a comparison to you string method...

Always makes me laugh.👍🏻 Keep up the good work. Wish you guys would see the light and start using the metric system..😂 1 Liter of water = 1 liter in volume. 1 Liter of water = 1 kilo in weight. So you could just measure the amount of water you add and get the volume, or put the box on a scale and se how much weight is added and get the same result. None of this medieval guessing.
