Nice bai dex..i was then a ornamental fish lover when i was in cebu..mostly platinum guppies ,kois and 24k mollies..love the color cause its very atrractive when full moon light strike their back fins..when u put them in a wide shallow pond..kung duol ra ko dha bai..lami kaau bisita sa farm nimo..

I have been told that on a new concrete in a pond, will spike you PH off the chadts, so you have to watch the PH very carefully at first, Apparently concrete will spike your PH very quickly when you add water. It will settle down after a while, but you should use PH Down at first. Also I have heard that wood will bring down the PH naturally but have not tested it yet. I do know that tree bark will leach Tannin into the watrr faster than the leaves do.

I suggest keeping Discus! It's great and not that difficult. It will also attract more customers because of their different colors and varieties. All you need is at least 3 pairs with 30 gallon tanks for each pair and that cone thing were they will lay their eggs. Im just telling you to try something. Since your channel is growing, your level of fish keeping must too. Trust me the customers will love it and buy it especially for at least P500 for an ordinary strain and P1500-P2000 for a stunning strain. Plus, Discus arent as hard to keep as before. I hope this idea may help you wiht your business and channel.

Thanks Dexter, i am from a small mountain town in the Himalayas. I am making a list of ornamental fishes that can survive a little cold weather. (Carp has survived, so now I wanted to start the ornamental fish). The temperature is about 24 degree Celsius - 18 degree Celsius in summer & in winter it can get cold as 1 degree Celsius. If I put heaters will koi survive and other ornamental fish, like guppies, parrotfish, cychilds, gold fish, all carps etc. The carp survived well in the winters. But I dont know which fishes I should choose. Thanks brother...for your educative channel. You are a hero for many...and source of immense inspiration.

Uncle Dexter. I hope you read this message. I would like your advice on something. You have many years of experience with ornamental fishes. I have a 50 gallon tank with 4 young kois in it. I have the tank inside my house and have had them for 4 months now. Everyone I walk by he tank they panic and hit the tanks walls. They are not calm. Please advise me. I removed the substrate from the tank but that made it worse. It's bad now because they dont eat properly.
