8:25 I get those ghost strikes all the time. TFP keeps taking the best parts of the game from us and gives us... prettier graphics and zombies that can smack you in the nose without an animation.

Instead of a table under the campfire, I find it much more efficient to use a storage box. I don't have to look for stored food; it's under the place I cook my food. When it begins to fill up, I put a storage box on top of the campfire, and use that one for drinks and drink mats. Just throwin' that out there for your consideration.

Now you have all vehicles built. When you respec you can use a lot more skill points to focus in to the Strength tree. That tree should have a lot of useful skills to help the Baton.

I have also notice the large amount of time zombies can hit you despite being staggered/knocked down or even too far to hit you

It's annoying, especially when they're on the ground, facedown, and they get a hit.

Part of this is that TFP extended the zombie reach so they can still hit you while you can hit them. Which means that they have a reach of around 2.5 blocks. Which is absurd. But it prevents players from using the reach of the spear and some other weapons to hit zombies with effective impunity. There is a mod that reduces zombie reach back to more reasonable distances. And the animations aren't always synced up with what you see. Especially in multiplayer on a server. On single-player games it is better, but still not perfect. Too many other things can override or interrupt the zombie animations, so even though they don't look like they are swinging, the game still processes that swing.

I don't think its the weapon. The only thing going for it is the perks. IMO, if you have to max out intellect, then the baton skills, then physician just to make it a good weapon, it isn't a good weapon. Thats a lot of extra skill points that can go into different skills that has to be sunk into the entire intellect tree. I'd rather use a club or knives, then have skill points for other perks.

Even without a single book or skill points, the Stun Baton is one of the earliest found iron-tier melee weapons, does the same damage as the Baseball Bat, swings faster, uses less stamina, and also gets the regular DoT/Electrify proc (which ups its effective damage/swing considerably).

@@heliumphoenix thats debatable. I personally view it as a flawed and imcomplete weapon tier. You dont have to max out strength or agility to have a viable weapon like you do batons. If you have to max out physician to have a shot against rads, and smack them 100 times waiting on a 10% roll, it isn't viable. You have to max out intellect, the baton perks, the speed of the baton perks, plus physician. In any other skill tree, you have one less set of perks to have a viable weapon, which IMO, makes it usable if you want to sink all your points into it, but if you want clubs, you'll have way more skill points left over for anything else.

@@Andy-vh2ue - No, it isn't. The stats are clearly in the config files. It is viable from the beginning, and only gets more powerful as you spec into it. You don't have to "max out" any more than you do in ANY tree. Don't max Strength, Pummel Pete, and have all the perk books? You'll run out of stamina in 4 power swings with that Steel club. Rads will then eat you. The only thing that is "debatable" here is whether or not any individual playstyle is suited to using a given weapon. And the nice thing about intellect is that those "other" perks are also beneficial in OTHER ways, whereas most of the other skill trees are much more narrowly focused, resulting in even more points being spent in other trees.

@@heliumphoenix you totally didn't get the point of what I am saying. Keep your baton, I'd rather go with a steel club which outclasses the stun baton, unless you max out physician and rely on perks. Like you mentioned, its on par with a bat, a midtier weapon. Unlike everyone else, I don't care how anyone wants to play. Everyone in here has been saying, but you gotta have the perks. I never run max physican in any playthrough, I get the one point and thats it. I still have the rest of those points for mining, farming, whatever, instead of sinking them into physician.

Day 32, no deaths yet. You've done 3 horde nights, your max tier weapon, a gyrocopter and multiple bases (just in case you have to nuke one). Pretty sure you have some backup batons kicking around in them too. Dude, you're sitting pretty!

I prefer to play in the winter biome myself. Bit more of a challenge. Maybe that is your next game challenge, a 100% winter map with no missions and a lower loot level like 50-75%. Also do you ever use the BDUB vehicles mod?

With all the complimenting skills for the baton, you can use power hits much more often than you are, I’m using a tier 5 pipe baton atm and almost never use normal hits without issue

Hey Josh guess who's back yet again! Anyways, good news! I found an even more shite weapon to do a playthough with, even worse than a Baton! *Drum Roll* The Torch Only run! That's right, it never breaks, it light the way, it even sets Muppets on fire (add Gups fire mod, and your included :D )! It just has no tiers, no upgrades, not able to be modded, crap stats, and no perks that help (Firefighter Almanac is your only boost lol) and means fighting the apocalypse with nothing but a flaming stick! To go with this, your not allowed to use other light sources such as lanterns, helmet or weapon lights, or lightbulbs in your base, just torches (Here screamer screamer screamer) which do stack, and free to use to light the way. I suggest using something like Mean Ones Darkness mod for this as well, or maybe a sequel to Eclipse? Its been sinec Alpha 19 since we had that awesome series. BTW, I'm gonna keep uping your engagment till i get your response. Cheers mate 🍻
