Just a heads up, Adelina! I've been using a heated hose (it looks just like yours) and spent almost $200 for it last November. It worked like a champ throughout our snowy winter. By April, I hadn't unplugged it or switched it out to a summer hose, and I noticed that my cold water was hot! I feel like the angels were watching over me when I went to investigate it. The thermostat on the hose was smoking, turning black, and ready to give way to a fire! I'm mentioning this just to alert you to check it out if your cold water ever runs hot out of your faucet. I only used mine for 5 months when this happened. And, thank you for the lovely tour! I hope you manifest that property. It's so ideal to find land with an old mfg home you can demolish and utilities already set up, ready to go.

When you moved into your new space and put out your pretty plants I remember thinking oh oh. I live in the mountains of California and I can tell you the deers will always win. I had to put an 8 ft fence around my garden. I have a water source for them and put out garden scrapes for them. Every year they bring their babies and they allow me to hand feed them. So it’s a win for us all.

This whole episode was, there’s no other word for it, adorable. 😊 Sophie, seating area, bird feeders, your deer talk, you at the river, Jack, just how pretty/cozy it is there where you live now. As much as I loved your previous spot, that neighbor’s mouth actually led to something even better! You seem happy, relaxed and more at peace/comfy. I know you love your ocean access, but having a beautiful river in your backyard is something many folks dream of. You’ve got friends, neighbors, facilities, walking space, access to a clear, rushing river, etc. I really enjoyed this episode. Those little red shoes. ❤😁 You make such good content. I always feel a little lighter, smilier after spending a few minutes with Adelina and Sophie in their surroundings. This was a great episode, good luck with your tub project/fix. I do indeed remember your previous troubles back in Calgary, re: some squishy water intrusion? It’s great you have a backup/fall-back solution for the moment. Very nice facilities there. You’re in a really nice spot. PS - I think it’s nice/sweet how you’re mindful of the privacy of others around you. A lot of KZbinrs wouldn’t be/aren’t, so that puts you a notch above, in my eyes. 😉😊 Tge house looks great, all leveled/skirted up and fully in place. You’re in paradise, from where I sit! Wishing you comfort and happiness and a long stay there, including possible future property purchase…you were eyeing that lot pretty hard, if the $$$/mobile home thing can get worked out. A duck should live near water/a river, I always say. 🦆

Wow!! Such a beautiful spot to be living in. And the river, a fluid, peaceful place to swim and rest in. Surrounded by all the big beings of nature. Hmm the deer!! They eat anything tasty in the garden I understand. So I guess only a fenced garden will be safe, or perhaps there are ornamentals they dont find delectable. A little dog would chase her away, but I guess thats not a practical solution.

Fencing is the only thing that works with the deer......you can plant some daffodils for the spring, they don't touch them. Only flower I have found thats completely deer proof. They don't seem to nibble on the rhodo blooms either. Lavender, rosemary and sage also get a green light!💚

When we lived in Montana … Mother lived in one side of a duplex … she had the most beautiful Tulips that circled her tree in the front yard … well one morning she heard clicking on the pavement close to her house … looked out and there were several deers enjoying her Tulips! She called me and said … you’ll never guess what happened …. She told me … but she wasn’t mad as she fed squirrels in the back yard! 😁

If you use chicken wire and create rounds around the tomato plants ( paint it black) to camouflage wire it helps protect tomato 🍅 plants It fades from a distance so you can still enjoy the view 😉 and if you make it with extra space between plants and wire edges, it keeps the deer from nibbling lol

One effective way of keeping deer away from your garden is through the use of heavily scented products. The most popular deterrents are bars of deodorant soap. I don't know if this would work but might be worth a try.

I watch a guy on KZbin and he bought some land. Which had a mobile home on it. Only half was standing. He tore it down and just took the stuff, to the recycling center. Or whatever it needed to go. Down here you can buy fencing that can go around what ever you want to keep deers out. I have seen where a guy put some kind of wire around a small tree. Kinda like chicken wire. Have a good week.😊

Oh Adelina, I'm so delighted to see what a beautiful spot you have landed in. You didn't mention how the Internet is working for you, but if it was a problem I'm sure you would have! It has such a wonderful feeling, and having the river that close (but your house on the bluff!) is just lovely! I had a good laugh at the sculptures made of reclaimed metal - that one of the "guy" reminds me of the "Manneken Pis" in Belgium - a very very old, very famous statue in Brussels. If you haven't seen it, you can look it up. Sorry about the deer having lunch on your garden. That can be a problem for sure. Where I used to live I looked out my kitchen window one morning and there was a deer a couple of feet away munching away from the bird seed that had fallen onto the ground. Deer don't tend to be as tame in Ontario as I've seen them on Vancouver Island. I wish you many happy times in your spot - and you didn't mention the price of "your lot" that you're manifesting...but that would be quite lovely! And I agree with the way you would get rid of the mobile by taking it apart and selling the metal for scrap. I have heard from someone else that it is a bit of a nightmare - and expensive - getting rid of them, though you'd think scrap dealers would be happy to haul it away for you. So happy for you!
@myBIGtinyhouselife Жыл бұрын
Thanks! The lot is just under $600K Canadian.
@janinafisher101 Жыл бұрын
@myBIGtinyhouselife A lot of money for just a lot, but not bad for out there I'm guessing - especially if you can get it for less b/c of the mobile. And if you put in septic and well, etc., and you said it's quite large, you could be the one renting a parking space to the next Adelina! 🤞💝

I feel your pain about the deer. It’s the same here in Virginia. They will avoid strongly scented things so my lavender, lilacs and gardenia are doing well. So maybe something like that will work? Also, my hydrangeas haven’t been eaten since I started spraying them with the following mixture. I usually spray 1x week after watering and after rain. Best wishes to you in your beautiful new home. Little beastie spray: - 1 whole head of garlic (cloves split) -1/4 oz each of lavender, mint and lemon essential oils (others might work too) Add to a large spray bottle (36 oz ) and then fill with distilled water Shake before and during use

I love the river spot! Reminds me of when I was a child swimming in PA, in the creek with my cousins, we’d sit on the rock edges and let the water flow over us. As my uncle widdled whistles out of birch branches for us. I really love you’re new location. So happy for you!❤

What a lovely location you have ended up in! I am wondering if any bears have been hitting your bird feeders as they love bird seed!
