I just bread guppies that do not look like either parent. The colors are amazing. It must be genetics because the guppies parents are plain in color not very fancy. Yet the babies are fancy. I'm so happy and taking very good care of them. Can't wait for them to breed. Lover of the hobby. It is fun.

My big guppy tank just had a explosion on fry. I had 4 females drop fry in last 2 weeks. I had 2 drop the week before that. Unfortunately my females died shortly after dropping fry. They where older, that was going to be last of breeding for them. I was going scoop them up and put them in the retirement tank. I get they can still produce fry, but they wouldn't have the males chasing them. I have 2 more that are going to drop. One is my blue steal head. The other is a cobra/ Dumbo mix. I can't wait to see her fry. I'm trying to breed wild guppies again. They guppies that where around when I was a kid 25 years ago. Those guppies you could put in any type of water and they would thrive. Now a days. They have become sensitive lil fish

Hermano! Thanks (again!) for all your great info. My biggest female just delivered our second brood of fry -- almost exactly 1 month apart. 14 babies last month, then about 30 babies this weekend. I think I have the right food, a couple of peaceful tanks with lots of plants, slightly hard and warm water... (somehow, I don't know how they birth in those shallow trays, and the babies don't get eaten. My 55 Gal is HEAVILY planted, and the few that have been birthed there all get eaten, before I was able to move mom to another setup!) Anyhow, the babies now all seem so happy. Keep the good info coming, and Dios Te Bendiga!

Wow! Maybe I should move to the Philippines... The fish are so nice there! So much easier to keep many, as you can keep them outside! AND It is ALWAYS warm! Where I am there is over 4 foot of snow! Today it was -25C! It is warming up as spring is near. Haha! Guppy are great fish, my husband loved them very much when I was breeding them previously. You do so well with your fish, I am jealous! :)

Hi Dexter Amazing guppies. I love those full reds. Really amazing. However i would like to briefly share my experiences with them. Firstly i dont know the genetics of your line but if i want male offsprings that would color up fast red i would remove all the males and only keep one male in bag shown at 7:16 minutes in video. This male is far superior than the others plus the younger males has a white band on the lower body( imo an unwanted trait as u want red to be uniform ) and these younger males would most likely out out compete the older males and sire father the next batch. Secondly you should also add the shredded rice bag as albino red eyes are notorious for eating fry especially in aquariums so more coverage would increase chances of getting fry. Best option is to make a breeder cage like the one you did for kohaku swordtails. Also don't mix abino fry with blackeyes fry as albino are slower growth and would be eaten by bigger black eye fry. Finally try and select females which has deeper reds color as your breeders to get keep deeper reds in offsprings. Hope this helps. Good luck my friend.

Guppy are $3.00 here in the pet store. I can buy feeder goldfish and minnows for .16 at the Pet Smart store. They goldfish grow very fast in my tanks. I also can buy several different koi starting at about $4.00. My problem is all my tanks are frozen today it is 21 or -6.1 for you.

As to international shipping yep I looked into it I wanted to send you a couple of Endler colonies , Limia nigrofasciata & maybe some Goodieds & Killifish ," I'm afraid it might be too hot there for a lot of the varieties." Yep, went to see what I needed and well for most of the Goodieds & quite a few of the KIllies you'd have to be a zoological garden or accredited aquarium & I'd have to arrange for a C.I.T.E.S permit. For the rest of them you'd pretty much have to have a high volume of business to make it worth while & you'd also have to be know what was allowed in the destination country or it just wouldn't be worth your while ,"costs a lot of money."
