WOW - nice house Ian . I love the Bird's water bowl with "WOOF" written on it . So , Ian , where do all your subscribers stay when we come to visit ? Is Breakfast included ? LOL . I tried to find the village but could not . Was the house fully furnished - i noticed the coffee maker for instance . May i ask what type of rent per month please ?
@IanWheldale6 жыл бұрын
Fully furnished, Russell, even down to pots and pans. Rent is 7500/month plus electric and water which won't be excessive. Owner has chickens (cheap fresh eggs) and got free bunch of bananas off the tree yesterday :)
@rossie2736 жыл бұрын
$300AUD/Mth. - WOW . A camping site over here costs more than that . I work expenses on a weekly basis so you are paying $70/Wk. for a fully furnished house . Friends rent out a room of their house partly furnished , share bath and laundry and kitchen here on Tamborine Mountain for $250/Wk. and have no trouble finding a tennant . Ian(my partner) and I could rent our house for $730/Wk (unfurnished) and live very well in Paradise AND put money aside each week . Can you see a problem with that idea , Ian ? I would already be over there but Ian is not keen on the idea - YET . Thanks for the info . Rain here today - I'm off to my biker club meeting(Historical Motorcycle Club of Queensland) then on Thursday we are on a cruise of the South Pacific(our first). Ian , I'd rather be in Thailand than wasting my time and money here .

Hi. I"m going to be moving to Chiang Rai before the end of the year and planning to look for a house to rent in one of the villages near the city. My online work depends on reliable and fast internet (have to do regular videoconferencing with clients). How is the internet service outside of the city? Does it go down like the power often does in Thailand?
@IanWheldale6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jon. This house is a couple of kilometers off the main road in a small village. However, we have fibre from 3BB and it's 200mb down and 100mb up which is better than I was getting from Virgin in the UK. The fibre wasn't laid to our side of the village initially and the property owner had to pay for the cable to be extended up this way, but it wasn't an awful lot of money. We've had one major outage when some electric cables caught fire and burnt through the fibre in the village centre, but apart from that it's been great. Electric sometimes goes off and sometimes runs at reduced power, but you will get that everywhere in Thailand. That doesn't happen too often though. The house at the back of this plot is rented by a guy who teaches English to Chinese clients online and he's been very happy with the internet here. Hope that helps.
