My New To Me 2021 International LT625

I bought a 2021 International LT625 to replace my 2005 T600. It was a hard decision to move forward with another truck payment and an emissions truck. But the cost of fuel and no comfort in the T600 was getting to be too much for me as I am staying out on the road more. Sub to follow the adventure of owning another emission truck.

I’m newer to the owner operator game. I’m 26. Started my business/authority in 2021. It’s been a learning curve to say the least. You said it perfectly “you can make a lot of money, but end up giving it all back” I learned the same lesson with my fld. Maxing out credit cards for repairs and parts. I’ve been watching your videos for a while now. And I appreciate the fact that you don’t sugar coat what it’s truly like out here. I’ll be even more excited to watch now with the new truck, because I too have been looking into an LT625. I think I’ll just watch your videos first for a while and see how it holds up 😂. Man you are a survivor. That is a lot of money to go through in that amount of time. Good on you for being prepared. That X-15 is looking good and it’s a better looking International than most on the road. I think they only get a bad name from that MaxForce engine they had used awhile back. Pretty much garunteed to throw a connecting rod and blow the engine. Ruined their reputation. Since the switch to Cummins, minimal problems and I also felt the frame was very durable. That T-600 was definitely cool, shame it was so uncomfortable.

Your truck looks brand new, It is really nice all around and inside, iIt was a great decision on your part; specially with the Cummins X15 engine which I have on my 2020 Volvo 860. Awesome engine indeed!! Congratulations on your new truck!! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍

I was an international hater and I still wouldn't say they are my favorite but my company recently sold all our w9s and put me in a Lonestar. At first I was really upset but I kinda forced myself to focus on the positives and have to admit it has very much grown on me. Only thing I have trouble getting passed is the awful hood and headlights lol. But can't see it from the driver's seat anyways lol. Yes it's rattley like you said and plasticy but very smooth and comfortable and roomy. My wife loves riding in it. She's much happier than she was in the w9 and if you like taking passengers their happiness is almost more important so that they want to go. Sorry for the ramble

Congratulations !!! With your experience the odds are in your favor that it's a money making truck. It's your home away from home so comfort is as important as reliability. A top of the line APU seems a no brainier making sure you always have backup power supply. It's crazy that just the saving in fuel makes the truck payment. My niece is one of those never a automatic i suggested she take a class just like she had to for a stick shift. She's a excellent driver red tags anything not up to safety standards. Some of the yes boss types have no idea it's all on the driver's as soon as you hit the public highway.

Look at trucks from a dealer. Yes, auction or used truck lots. But they won’t take care if you find something. And they usually get the trucks that dealerships don’t want. I have a sales guy I now call a friend that I’ve bought 4 trucks from, they get rid of the trucks that will cost them more than they are worth to repair. I can also call my sales guy and he will take care of me. Already replacing stuff I’ve found after I bought the truck. Used truck lot do that?

Looks brand new 😯 My truck is 20 years old 🤫 I have to work on my truck to keep it running. You will be out there making all that money, with half the fuel. And when fuel hits $6/gal again you will be saying, “See?” Looks nice 👍

Good luck with the new truck! I like the X15 for torque and fuel mileage, especially if you don’t drive really fast. I was getting 8.2 the other day running 75, but the load was light. Has the head gasket been replaced yet? Around 6 - 700k a lot of our truck were puking coolant out of the block/head connection. Those were 2018, 19s so maybe they’re better now. You should be a happy camper for a while … 😊

Yes. Very hard decision. But business is about making money and spending more on fuel driving the KW then what the new truck payment is, seems like the better option.

First thing is congratulations on the new truck!! it's always awesome to get something new :D awesome you got it for a great deal! I used to be one of those international haters lol but I only hated it because it's ugly and I never actually drove one...until this year with my new job, I was always a cascadia or volvo driver and let me tell you that international is sooo much better than the cascadia and I can't wait to get mine back from the shop! international over cascadia every day after learning that truck. Anyway love the color, it's awesome! Just like you said the black grill is way better than the chrome. My only 2 cents which I know you don't care but if I remember correctly you wanted to change the mirrors to chrome and I hope you don't cause black and red look way cooler imo! 😎I can't wait for the next video showing it off!

"Indefinite backorder" with Freightliner has often meant that actually have the part in their own inventory, they just don't want to look it up. Can usually call around and find the part, and with one-boxes now, there are several places that can repair them rather than replace.

This was during the heat of Covid. You are right about the inventory. I am close with the people at my local Freightliner. They straight out said, we have them, but the megas are hording them and we can’t sell them. Thing about Freightliner out here in Utah, they are the world’s largest because of all the mega carriers in SLC. And aftermarket, it wouldn’t have been covered under warranty. And it was a really bad time for me. I was rushing to save that run that I ended up losing anyways.

My younger brother (RIP) used to say "scared money never wins". Do your due diligence on how much you'd save on fuel if you pulled the trigger on a newer truck to see if it makes sense or not. Best of luck to you.

My buddy is leased onto me with a 2018 Cascadia. His average over 7 months is over 8mpg. I see all his numbers since I do the IFTA. These are miles driven to gallons used. Mine was 5.7. If I can get 7+ this truck will pay for itself.

I was able to do $5k down. I got one hell of a rate too! $1273 a month. I went through NaviStar. I did try to go through another bank first because the sales guy said NaviStar is hard to get qualified. Don’t know if he was BSing be because he got a kickback from the broker. But she came back with $5K down and $1900 a month AND the bank required I had a 3rd party warranty which is completely worthless.
