My new travel tripod - the Leofoto Ranger LS 224CL and LH25 head

In this video I talk about my new lightweight travel tripod that will double as a video tripod especially for vlogging. The weight, size and price make it a great choice for me to throw into my backpack or bag.

Thank you for the great review. I like the set up especially the single action knob for the ball-head. It makes the adjustments so much faster if you are on the go. The extension/attachment for the top is similar to my AM-284 set up. BTW, I bought that tripod after seeing your review of Sirui tripods. I am totally happy with the AM-284. The Leofoto in this video is even lighter with similar capabilities. I have to mention this to my wife for a possible Christmas gift!!

I keep finding your videos… I’m always looking to do more, and my needs tend to be very specific. Last time it was shooting over walls and fences using my 36 series LeoFoto tripod, this time it’s cycling in the mountains. Small and lightweight count, last year I used the LS-223CEX which is a tiny version with a built-in leveling head. At times I found myself needing more height, thus my search that lead me to your video. I just ordered the 224c with the 222 extension. Here’s the cool part about LeoFoto gear. The 224 legs will go right on the 223CEX apex - I do pano work, getting the base level counts. The other fun part is the extension can be used to extend the legs of the 223. They both start with a 22mm section with a 19mm section that slides into it. Three 222 extensions (they’re cheap) can extend the use of the 223, and they still fit in the bag. The whole system becomes modular, you can decide how tall the tripod needs to be and how much room you have and quickly build a system to do it. Even just using the 224c and the 222 extension, it offers more. Let’s say you’re shooting on a hill and the downhill leg needs to be lower. You can take apart the 222 and insert it between the 22mm and 19mm sections on one leg, increasing it’s length. It’s simply an awesome system.

You should look into the new LS284 C-Pro tripod. I may have the nomenclature mis typed, but anyways, really nice little ‘set of sticks.’ 4 position legs, compared to the usual three, and improved CF, which also looks dammed fine! 😃 Light and good compromise on folded length vs maximum height. Stay safe and well!
